Freaking LOVE her voice. I was in choir all 4 years in high school, and I am a contralto usually just called an alto. All the singing exercises we did to warm up were all geared towards sopranos. While I can hit some of her low notes, I don't have that sheer power or multiple tones she can produce. I wish that I could have heard a singer like her back then, because it would have helped my singing confidence. Thank you for the continuous amazing reactions!
Don't worry about Diana hearing the buttons, when singing, she's in her own world and doesn't notice them.

Bear in mind, Diana was 17 here and the song, written by Vladimir Vysotsky, is about impending death, due to his own chaotic lifestyle.

You're right, it's Dee-Ahna. None of us like the "booms", but until after age 19 or so Diana was not full time professional, so her early videos are almost all contests. On the other hand, she had the coaching, costuming, staging, musical and video support of NTV, which makes them spectacular. Contralto is "Counter Alto", women who sing down to tenor and upper baritone with a dark vocal color; just like "Counter Tenor" for men who sing up into mezzo soprano. Diana goes contralto low, but defies vocal faching by singing mezzo soprano as well. Just as striking are her stage presence, instinctive acting ability and penetrating emotional honesty.

Diana's (15 yr) rendition of this song is unique and amazing. She has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. She also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl. Diana is a contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her general range is C3-C7, the main working C3-C6 - over 4 octaves) and her voice sometimes has polyphonic overtones. (Not everyone can hear that and many just say: There's something in her voice... that's it!)

In 2019 Diana sang this song in the singing competition 'You are super' (she was 15 years old). This competition is unique in the world, an international TV- competition, especially for adopted and orphaned children.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered this unique competition and won twice.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to TH-cam and soon she had millions of fans. She called us Friends.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
Igor Krutoy, here in "You are Super" as a juror, gave Diana a small apartment (37m²/ 398 ft²) in Moscow with the words: Live and sing!
There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in Oct. 2020). Now she is taught by the great Alexandra Pismennaya, who was a student of Prof. Donskoy.
*Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia. He is also a sponsor and a juror in this competition. His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash Qudaibergen. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. Krutoy is also still in touch with Diana and he introduced her to Brandon Stone. The result: 1st CD in December 2021 and in June 2022 there was a gold disc.

The intonation is on Anku(DI)nova and not on the O of nova.
You might have never heard of Contralto but you have certainly heard of the rest of the vocal types so if I explain a little you will get it.
There are three defining vocal types for each genre.
For males, from the lowest to the highest are:
Bass - Baritone - Tenor
For females the vocal types are:
Contralto - Mezzo/Soprano - Soprano
Contralto is the darkest and deepest of the female vocal types, you never heard of it because it is THAT rare, only 2% of the female population is born a Contralto and how many of them do you think that become singers?
Saying that, Diana is even more amazing because she might be a Contralto but her range is so insane that can fully cover all vocal types from high male Baritone all the way up to above Soprano.
Contraltos with their rare "dark" timbre are the "black sheep" amongst the female vocalists 😅

When she was 14-15 years old, she appeared in 7 performances on two consecutive years of the You're Super talent show for orphans. All seven of those were spectacular and brought world attention to her. But all of them had the judges pushing their buttons and making noise during her performances.
