- It was my birthday yesterday and while I love having friends and family to a party I don't want to make masses of work for myself so this is how we did it.

The flowers looks absolutely perfect and so did the food and I cannot agree more about not having to worry about it once your guests arrive. Its about breaking bread together and not fretting over souffles!

I perhaps unfortunately saw them locally at a major garden in NW Hampshire , which I will not mention. They had just gone over and looked horrible . In their prime, such as yours, so useful and lovely mixed with other flowers .But I am tainted by that wilted meaty vision!
ah well - I'm about to compost the few remaining in the ground - and that's a wrap for this year's tulips x

Please can you suggest when to order in flowers (for table decorations) for an event? I'm a fairly novice flower arranger and usually use what I can cut from the garden or buy from the side of the road but need more than I can source in this haphazard fashion! Is collecting the flowers from a supplier on a Tuesday about right for a 'do' on a Thursday?
They are needed for end of May so at the rate we are going with the weather - it won't be roasting hot then...

Crikey Georgie! £2 at Morrisons?…. I have been purchasing same jars at Convent Garden Market for £5!!! Imagine my mark up, if I shopped like you? There is a Morrisons close to my flower farm. If I can source them there for £2, I won’t buy you a coffee, I will purchase an online course.x
