40 years back I told my Dad and he was so smart about the whole thing.My mom was away and he bought me napkins and got md settled.He passed away at a very young age and I still miss him everyday.

Mothers are the architects of a child.so it is extremely important to teach sons and daughters about equality. teach them that men and women are equal. no one is superior.

My mom, paternal aunts and grandma still has the social stigma rooted in their minds that girls should not talk about periods with the male members of the family. I don't find any logic behind it. Also, my mom does not allow me to touch the idols and photos of gods and goddesses during those days. She also doesn't allow me to sit on my father's bed or to use my father's washroom even if my and my mom's washroom is occupied and it's urgent for me to go to the washroom. When I complain about it, she says that girls should bear the sufferings just because they are girls.
