  • A book release day from your favourite author is always one of the most exciting times of year, and I have been waiting (not so patiently) for Stephen King's newest story collection since it was announced.
I wanted to share my thoughts on each of the stories included in the collection, so that you can work out if it is worth a read for you.
I have tried my best to not give away too much in this review, but some spoilers may appear, if there are any stories in particular you would like to be kept in the dark for, I would recommend skipping past it using the chapters!
As always, it would mean a lot if you would like, comment and subscribe, as I have a lot of fun content planned!
I would love to get to know you all on either Goodreads or StoryGraph, let's be friends!

Okay this has made me want to read this so bad now.
Also I love how you did this book review, separating all stories and then an overall rating 💕

Thank you, I thought it made sense to talk about each story as the plots were so different!
I would highly recommend reading this when you get the chance, normally short story collections have trouble keeping my attention the whole time but this was really good

What would you recommend as an intro to Stephen King?

    • @GeorgiaIsReading

Hmmm, that’s a tough one! Misery is probably the novel I would pick, it was one of the first of his that I read, and it’s still one of my favourites. What I will say is that some people (me included) find the “book within the book” chapters a bit dull, but they don’t actually add to the plot of the main book, so feel free to skip those if you need to.
His short story collections (like You Like It Darker) are also great introductions as they give you a taster of a variety of “types” of stories that he writes.

Night Shift is a good collection of about 20 stories. Would be a pretty good starting point.

@@GeorgiaIsReading I really like a lot of the stories from Night Shift but The Man Who Loved Flowers might be one of my favorites. I love his NYC stories!
