I think buying a guitar as a birthday treat is a good thing, have done the same for many birthdays. You have a beauty there, love the tidepool finish, pickups and maple fingerboard. My fav strat is one of the last standard series, which I love, after seeing your vid I think I need to get a player series strat :)
