it's amazing when John started playing Jerry's parts. It still has the dead feel but gives a bit of a different vibe. I am so grateful that John decided to spend his vast talents with a band that America loves so much. As music consumers we hit the jackpot.
Well said. I get that some people may not dig Mayers music but when it comes down to it, we as a fan base got the best and biggest name in the guitar industry to dive head first into this music. He can do anything he wants with his time and he’s decided to give 4 months a year to us to just play these tunes. We definitely hit the jackpot. Not to mention how many new fans he brought in
John playing Jerry’s parts is kinda like having a step dad, it’s weird at first but eventually you fall in love. ❤ Thanks for giving us your time and love John.
Scored Bethel 7/1/22 tix!! Wife and kids will finally experience. Family trip here we come. Keep it going Johnny Boy!! Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile
if you told me 20 years ago John Mayer would be singing ST Stephen with Bob Weir I never ever would have believed it. Unbelievable. But still very cool!!!
HOLY crap!! St. Stephens was mind blowing! So jelly I wasn’t there. Sounding amazing guys! Definitely going gonna get a repeat in Hershey but that’s okay. :)

Hey Mr.Duke I met Merl Saunders at 1 of the SanFrancisco California shows with Jerry , I had to sit with him because Jerry said so ! Whose going to say no to Jerry ? He was a very pleasant man ! The dead paid for me & my niece to come for the NYears show , we stayed in Marin county & Billy would come to pick us up for the shows but I was lucky enough to b there for 3 weeks because of a friend I met here in Maine so that’s y we got the chance to stay for that long ! Was so great ! ❤️🐰🌹🐇☄️❤️🔥💥🪐👽👻 ! ,!
Bethel was the best concert ever I had to go back and relive it. Oh and nobody cares about weed. Smoke it up. I didn’t smoke at this show I had edibles lol
@@bunnybeckman8029 No, Bobby has tried to say he likes it that way for the "notes to breath". I can play anything the dead ever did at a professional level and these guys are pro musicians so they can play it fine. Old has nothing to do with it either. maybe he does like it like this but it is lame and boring and Im not the only one to notice. I thought rat dog was slow in 97 and that is way more up to speed. So, hes been doing this for AWHILE. As for still having the music. If I wanna fall alseep in a world of mediocrity I can do it without the $100 ticket price.
100% agree. The 594 was/is the best possible analog of the signature tone of Jerry's playing, imo. That tone is really a huge part of the overall sound of the Grateful Dead, and that 594 tone encapsulates that sound and brings it into the modern day. A strat-style guitar just doesn't really cut it for me in a lot of Dead stuff when compared to other options like the 594.
Yea this isn't the Grateful Dead - this is a tribute band. The Drummers were never good with the Grateful Dead and now they are just Ca$h cowing with the mindless fans... oh well each to his own!
Greatest President we've ever had. Would love to see him back in 2024. We really need him now though. You can't see a Dead show unless u got the jab.... Gtfoh
This is anemic, lugubrious, meaningless and embarrassing. More auditions are sorely needed. This used to be vital, immediate and energetic when The Good O'l Grateful Dead played it.
Na cat u don’t know what u r talking about ! Bobby did good for choseing these new guys for Dead& Co. so to me u r not a true Deadhead !? U should b glad that they r still playing Gratefuldead music ! 😣😖😱🥶😔

Singing with Bobby on the grounds of the first Woodstock festival no less. Mind blown. Lol
Happy to see you guys do the Woodstock set again, that makes me smile. Awesome job guys. Wish I could've been there.

I think John's vocals really lend themselves well to this great Dead song :)

I got it! This was not last night! Like I said. What a long strange trip its Been! I got on the Bus in S.F. early 70's. I have a good excuse!
Best Bobby’s guitar has sounded in quite a while
Couldn’t possibly disagree more
Why does he insist on that tone?

I seriously thought I was having flashbacks or something. By the way, nice to see Mickey adding some bigger Tom Toms. I think it makes a difference.
