    Looking to buy parts to build a KR V2 blade. Should I use a clear blade or trans white blade and why?

    • @MegtoothSithSabers
      @MegtoothSithSabers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Either works, both look slightly different. I like transwhite better, because it diffuses pixels very well. BUT, a clear blade with strip diffuser tube and foam appears to have an outer aura that transwhite lacks. I have built and own both, and have no clear preference

  • @nyczxjay
    @nyczxjay 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Tom, is there a reason why you didn't add additional layers of diffusion with heat shrink and cellophane like you did with your older blade build video?

    • @MegtoothSithSabers
      @MegtoothSithSabers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no room with sticks. If you use 7/8 foam, you can get celophane on outside of foam. This was blade building with pixel stick in simplest form.

    Thanks, Meg! Helpful in the extreme.
    Question: do you prefer clear blade tubes, or was it a customer request? If you prefer, what are the advantages?

    • @MegtoothSithSabers
      @MegtoothSithSabers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i prefer transwhite for overall appearance. But clear tubes create this plasma with an edge look that is cool too. so, although I personally prefer transwhite, I also live clear.

    Correct me if im wrong but you wouldnt need a resistor since the K2 V2 have a resistor already in the strips...?

    • @MegtoothSithSabers
      @MegtoothSithSabers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you dont need the resistor, no. But it doesnt hurt either. The resistor serves to smooth out the data signa for the pixels. Fredrik tested up to 2000 R when he put onboard data 1 resistor on proffieboard, and the pixels got signal just fine. The resistor isnt there to reduce V, like in tricrees. Pixels still have full power. So, if you had a saber with a restor on soundboard data, resistor in blade pcb, and on pixel stick, signal just has 3 opportunities for noise reduction.

    Awesome video dude. Do you need to change your config when using a KR strip ? I’ve been told you need to do this for them to work ?

    • @MegtoothSithSabers
      @MegtoothSithSabers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not the v2 sticks, this one just gets set to 132 pixels in main blade array. So no more than you'd have to change for any other blade. The V1 pixel sticks were in series, and more complex. Khal of KR sabers listened to feedback and redesigned the stick so leds were parallel same as strip blades. You always have to set pixel count in configuration file for your specific blade, so these are the same.

    • @MegtoothSithSabers

      sound is in hilt. Hilt has computer tgat senses motion, controls lighting effects, and produces sounds oit of a speaker.

    Hi, is there a reason why you use trans white tips instead of clear tips since your blades are clear?

    • @MegtoothSithSabers
      @MegtoothSithSabers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Swanlord05 you could do 3, with 20 ga 2ire divided on 3 fets, you said 2 kr pixel Stix, that's 4 strips

    • @MegtoothSithSabers
      @MegtoothSithSabers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Swanlord05 3 is doable
      4 is possible, if engineered with precision. The fact you are asking me these questions, leads me to believe that you do not possess the required knowledge to accomplish it. What's wrong with the traditional dual strip blade? NOTHING. 3 strips tax your mosfets with higher amperage, use your battery quicker, and cause tip dimming as amps are lost going up blade. So, what advice I'm giving, is for the best overall performance, with the least negative impacts. But do whatever you want.
