There's very few objects that I actually feel love for. The flowers that I kept from my grandmas funeral, the ticket stub from my 1st Grateful Dead concert,& so on. Willies guitar is one of those objects that I love. I've never held it, and I've only seen it in pictures & film...yet I love it, and the man who has played it and has stayed loyal to it all these years. Run of the mill type people probably see it & think that it's junk. Worthless. But they are. Ignorant. If only the old girl could talk. The stories she could tell. I get the same feeling when I happen to see an old Studebaker truck. Or an honest to God Tucker. There goes a survivor. A rare bird that can do something that I'll never be able to do...fly on. Is his guitar bruised and battered? You bet. Could Willie get a newer, prettier guitar? I think he knows the right people. But he's loyal to her...scars and all. Loyal to the old girl. Thanks Willie. This joints for you.
His voice was a little clearer when he was younger. Age and pot didn't do him any favors. Also this is when the Western was still part of Country Western music.
Happy Birthday Day Willie, 91 years strong today…..thanks for the music and memories!
A young Willie playing what was to become a piece of history !!!!!!!!!!!
Willie is the best American song writer ever, hands down.

This was the WIllie I was a fan of. The popular Willie is not this guy.

Agreed. I actually think the best music he ever produced was in thearly and mid 60's, before he cultivated the outlaw image.
Both of you are spot on. I didn't like Willie Nelson at all until I heard this song yesterday.
the best version! idk why apple music took it off ffs
Is this the version originally from 1964 single?
Does anyone have tabs for that long intro with Paula Nelson?
