Great content as usual! I was a B-52G flight crew member and we also flew the first night of the war. It was also the first B-52 low altitude attacks ever flown. Our unit flew runway denial missions in southern Iraq that night.
That is absolutely heroic! I cant imagine an airline sized aircraft doing such daring moves, it must have been an incredible sight! Thanks for your service.
I was sitting in the Al Jubayl port waiting on my Bradley to arrive. We listened to BBC on shortwave radio about the Tomahawks. There was a guy in southern Baghdad reporting on things, and the thing I remember was him going, "Holy shit, that missile just took a left at the corner like it was driving in Sunday traffic," and in the background, you could AA fire.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Cap and krewe. I know you don't like doing night missions because you feel like they don't make compelling videos, but I have to say they really do. In jet engagements there's not a lot for us Valued Viewers to see outside the aircraft except clouds anyway, so the night missions where you rely on GCI and instrumentation actually give us a good sense of what's going on. As for this mission, how about doing it again some time, this time send everyone in to do SEAD/DEAD (and a couple for air to air defense), then when you are all winchester, respawn everyone as the attack packages. See if you can do it without loss.
I was with 2nd Armored Division (Forward) waiting for vehicles near the Port of Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia when we heard the explosions of ordinance impacting targets in Kuwait, and south eastern Iraq near Kuwait. We not only heard it we felt it. Great being apart of history. Although I did not like the SCUD threat with possible chemical agent. But we were prepared.
okay, im coming back to dcs after a long break and what on earth was that female voice at around 7:10 never heard that before ever? is that a new game feature? or is that like an addon to the server for the mission?
Having to make a few fixes for it; that was the first time it was tested. The bandits weren’t supposed to spawn all at the same time. As soon as ive fixed it i’ll add it to the user files and reply with a link :)
Even if it's a game... I can't help myself thinking about all the civilians killed in this war. As Jacques Prevert said in Fatras : "La guerre serait un bienfait des dieux si elle ne tuait que les professionnels." "War would be a gift from the gods if it only killed porfessionnals".

Le général Lee a dit également un truc un peu similaire (à la fin de la bataille de Frederiscksburg il me semble): "il est est une bonne chose que la guerre soit si terrible, autrement nous finirions par trop l'aimer" ------------- General Lee also said something a bit similar (i thought after Fredericksburg battle): "it is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too found of it"
Hey Cap could please take the recent F-18 super bog that was shot down off the coast of Yemen, you and your fabulous flying team against a rouge SM3 fired at each & see if the F-18 pilots could have done anything to evade the SM3 ? Have a Merry Christmas to each and everyone of the Grim Reapers 🎄🎄🎄

Another mission my dad flew irl! thanks guys. b52 pilot
I can honestly say I really look forward to your content GR 👏 Seasons greetings to you all.
My 24th birthday and second year on active duty with the USAF as an avionics technician on the F-15.
Happy holidays, Cap, and Grim Reapers.
Thanks!
I was just finishing my shift in a London News room, the last one out.. when it all happened.. I'll never forget that moment.
Was watching the desert storm videos from years ago last night only to see this beauty in the morning-Christmas came early!
Thanks for another available mission!! The more the merrier.
This felt very real. I had no idea what was going on.
Reminds me of training exercises in the cadets . . .
Cool vid!
The echo/reverb on the ATC voice in the first minutes though reminds me of the "UFO" tv show a long time ago^^

Merry Christmas everyone!
Great mission, chaps. Brought back a lot of memories.
Pretty crazy action! Loved it.
semd the SEAD in last. great plan.
21:43 I've been watching the majority of GR vids for a few years now, thats the first time I've ever seen Cap almost suck planet.
Excellent mission; thank you!
Fun watch! Really enjoyed Cap

Shame we don't have even an AI electronic warfare aircraft in DCS. EF111 Sparkvarks played very important roles during these strikes.
Perhaps the effects of the EW aircraft were so hush-hush that we still don't know how to model them?
Why would ANYONE go into a SAM area BEFORE Wild Weasels COMPLETELY CLEARED it???? HARMS FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gotta add some realism to that AWACKS radio chatter

more of these and do it multiple times from different groups please & thank you!!!
The echo on the AWACS voice makes it sound like CAP is getting orders from Great Beyond or something. It sounds so ominous
This is kinda of weird, the allies lost 39 aircraft, none were lost in air combat in the first Gulf War.
Not weird. Sovblock gear performs better in dcs than irl, also, no ew

I believe that is unique to this mission.
@@therocinante3443 i would have thought that but ive heard it in a couple other vids too
You should do a video about a modern flotilla trying to defend Okinawa from the US invasion fleet
Love it 🎉✊🏾
how was that AI Tornado even airborne at the end!!
AIM-9X in 1991? mmk. Awesome re-enactment though!
Stroke 6 next?
Where do I download this mission?

All those afterburners at night lol.
Golf War really??? Who was the caddie?
Granby.
There were no 9X in 1991.
Yep having to find all the bugs before uploading the user file. thanks for the spot - will try and find the guilty unit!
why are there bots in the chat 💀

As Jacques Prevert said in Fatras :

By professionals I always hoped he meant lawyers, engineers and accountants. That would make this the best possible world.
