Flamenco guitarists are truly the best, masters of the guitar they put any of these other guitarists to shame this is what guitars were built and designed to play
We had Paco de Lucia who realised incredible innovations leading to "flamenco nuevo". RIP. We have Paco Pena who realised incredible innovations leading to "traditional flamenco 2.0". And still does. Thank u both for contributing in making my life more enjoyable.
This is a very astute remark. I have had the same sense for a long time. Both are viruouse grandmasters, but in some way I am also more fond of how Paco Peña has been able to deepen traditional Flamenco. I am very happy to have seen him live in Jakarta 15 years ago - it was extraordinary!
@@InSpirAll You are blessed to have seen him perform live. I saw him live 4 times in different settings. In my early twenties, about 25 years ago, I saw/heard him perform with John Williams and Inti Illimany. The performance started with 2 solo performances by the legendary John Williams, which was incredible. But then came Paco Pena with his 2 solo performances... And it straight blew our minds. He just was on a whole other level. And I know, they may not be comparable, but yet :)
i love Paco de Lucia and this Paco Penia too, i have something in common : the passion for this life!!! ( im a guitarist too, a neihborhood classiacal guitarist (now deceased) once told me he met Paco Pena in Finland once...) i listened to flamenco records some one time, but P.Penas 3CD i fell in love instantly with....love from Kimmo : )
I had an LP of his playing Latin American music n when he played Yellow bird but specially La Bamba it was sheer magic Never heard La Bamba ever played that good searched on u tube but no one has uploaded it yet
ralph jann I feel sorrow. I feel sorrow in my soul. Sorrow in my soul...the roots lying there all this years, I must lift. The land denies me her fruit. The field that I sow and till do not give me more. I have a presentiment of a voice that calls me, the wind brigs me the signals. "Come" My destiny is walk, following like a dream my arid end. Sorrow, I feel sorrow in my love.
the original track called ( Piedra Adentro ) it's a flamenco form called Taranta..in this track there's no singing ..paco pena adds the singing part here but the original one doesn't include singing..the album's name called (2006 - A Flamenco Guitar Recital) and the song or track called (Piedra Adentro (Tarantas) as i mentioned before, 3rd one in the album..if u can't find it on the internet i can send it to u if u want..i have almost everything about paco pena..
Saw him and his band and dancers in Dublin some 12 years ago. I will NEVER forget the experience. Beyond music. Pure Magic.
Man, this is really great. Sometimes I think that Paco Pena is the greatest Flamenco guitarist.
Don’t think ..... feeeel. It is like a finger pointing away at the moon

by chance do you know what guitar he uses?
I have this God awful feeling that having worshipped at the altar of PDL for 30 years, I was actually pointing in the wrong direction.
William Rodriguez I do believe it is a Geraldino Fernandez. He has mentioned in an interview that it’s his favourite guitar out of his collection.

I had joined the concert in Piraeus (Greece), it was fantastic!
Greatest flamenco artist I've ever heard.
I love how this whole video is just Paco Pena being better then everyone else.
There is no better.
@@Betterthantelly sabicas.
He has not only immaculate technique but fantastic phrasing in the rubato parts, which is more rare.
We are blessed to have people like this in our midst. Incredible and unique talent 🙏🎶
