I spent several months in Popoyo in 1999 and 2000, hardly anyone in sight. The waves to ourselves, offshore winds all day everyday! Attempting the outer reef never even crossed my mind though, way too gnarly for my level.

How often does this place break? I was at the Popoyo main break on a substantial long period swell and the outer reef wasn't even peaking, let alone breaking.
The beginning looked like low tide, I've ridden stuff like that on a 5'2" fish with a wide swallow tail, makes it a little more challenging. Love the fact that it's a WARM water wave, wetsuits SUCKKKK!!!
I really don't mind wetsuits they make me feel more boyuant and there has been times when I have hit shallow reefs and shredded my suit, if I hadn't a suit on it would been my skin
fuck this spots ruined this music's giving me a massive headache. too bad I didn't go back a second trip and get it empty again before dude ruined it.it shoulda stayed that way out there in the middle of nowhere ...but as someone sees money its all over.no shame .

I got Negra triple overhead by myself in 98 but the other two years sucked.
