    Why would anyone apologize for celebrating the acquittal of an unjust attempted prosecution of a hero?

      He did what he thought was right; I've yet to hear any evidence that indicates otherwise, and I have no problem either with the verdict or that knocked back a few beers in celebration. I don't think he's hero, however; in the end, his chosen method of restraint resulted in a death. Insisting that he is one seems unnecessarily provocative. This is a win for Penny and good sense. It was a loss for Neely's family and NYC.

    • @maplemutt158
      @maplemutt158 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @gregchavez1534 I respect your opinion. However, I don't know if in the heat of the moment, choosing an approach to restrain Neely was top of mind. It's sad when someone dies, for sure.

      @@maplemutt158 Thank you for pointing that out; Penny's failure neither was a legal *nor* moral one. From a root cause analysis perspective, Penny *share* of the blame (of which he owns far less than NYC) is restricted to how he conducted the hold. I.e., right idea, botched execution. Kids, don't try this at home, etc.

      Lets be honest. He knew what he was doing. Neely was threatening peoples lives saying he didn't care if he went to prison or not. In my opinion it was self defense, even if he meant to kill. Don't go around threatening peoples lives while hopped up on crack cocaine, or whatever Neely was on.

    If Demetrius Crichlow, NYC Transit president, and Michael Kemper, Chief of Transit for the New York City Police Department, were actually competent and properly doing their jobs, Jordan Neely would not have been on the train and this incident would not have happened.

    His family were nowhere in his life before his mother was murdered and after, till the day he died from drugs (abd possibly other health) issues. They should honestly be barred from suing Daniel Penny based on that alone. Separated from the fact he was found not guilty.
