"Leggings legs" should actually be when the leggings match your skin tone too well and from a distance it looks like you have nothing on. That's the real leggings problem lol.
I hate it when I see like a kid with leggings or tiny shorts that make me do a double-take cus I'd be so afraid they're just bottomless- I mean if they want to wear it, they totally can, I just feel confused when I see it lmao
I don’t think tiktok having a higher age limit will stop young people from downloading it, I mean, youtube us a 17+ app and there’s still millions of kids on here. Edit: TH-cam is 17+ in my country. in others it may be different. Sorry for any confusion.
@@72_rush No one who’s 18+ needs their parents to give restrictions on their phone. Also by the age of 16 any teenager would want boundaries. Some are understandable and some need to be earned. However, you as the parent need to learn and come to an understanding about them with your teen. Like…mastubation happens. It’s not something you should be controlling when they’re teenagers by not wanting them to see ph because you consider it bad. Talk to them about porn, addiction, and safe sex but that’s all you can by a certain age. Too much control will make your child not want to go to you about stuff. I know a lot of people who had parents that instead of gaining trust and understanding what’s going on chose to be controlling. These are the same people who are 21+ not having the best relationships with their parents. Saying you will lift restrictions when they move out or are 21+ is crazy. However, the real crime is the run on sentences 💀 Edit: Before anyone thinks about commenting to me I suggest you read each comment of mine. Multiple people have wrote several comments clearly choosing to ignore everything I’m saying. Don’t attempt to curse at me or claim I’m attempting to reverse trauma. These are the same people who could not have a mature conversation with me once I gave valid responses and got embarrassed because they were wrong for flip flopping my words. All of them have deleted their comments one even claiming I was gaslighting them so they can become the victim. Think before you respond to me 🤷🏾♀️
@@72_rushI also would like to say that I do agree with what you’re trying to say. Not attempting to downplay anything because we need to protect children and our future children. Especially with how gen z has been exposed to a lot more than older generations. However we should also think about how we were at their age when the time comes. As well as how to properly address these situations.
Makes it easier. You just follow that line and you have perfect eyeliner.I don't wear it often but Hey, it's there.I can't have perfect islander every time if I just follow the line.Love it
Not safe for any person period. Even if you never get insecure from anything you see on there, there's the risk of addiction of video scrolling and such lol
literally lol, I genuinely miss the "golden age" of tiktok (imo 2018-2020) when people were too scared to either download it, or admit they had an account. way less bullies, it was like a nice corner of the internet for a little while
Sadly that's been a problem in our society way longer than TikTok has existed. The fact we are becoming aware of it and how dumb it is to value people only on their physical beauty is a huge progress, some seem to be fighting against this progress but at least that's not a common opinion anymore. In the past century it was commonly believed that ugly people were inherently evil.
Beauty is something that’s always been valued, nothing wrong with that - but not in a vacuum. The issue when it’s the sole value, and every other source of value is mocked and called ‘cringe’. That being said, this is a never ending cycle. Thigh gaps, size zero, slim thicc - all throughout the 00s and 2010s there was a fad designed to make girls feel awful about themselves compared to whatever is trendy at the time.
Anyone of you struggling with insecurity with some odd facial feature, let me tell you something: When I was a fetus, I rolled over in my mother's womb in just such a way that caused the tip of my right ear to fold over. I have asymetrical ears. No one has ever noticed unless I pointed it out to them. And when I look in the mirror, I actually feel excitement when I see my ear. Becasue it makes me different. Becasue it makes me unique. Take pride in your unique facial features.
Mine is my nose, it tips over more prominently on one side. But unluckily, i have insecurities with mine. Usually its not noticeable when i use my spectacles, but whenever i dont wear spectacles, people will comment on it. So im thinking about doing plastic surgery just so it become more symmetry. I wish people would stop commenting on others looks openly. Ive been struggling with my facial feature my whole life 😢
And live waaay out in the southern country where 1. No one out heres takin their baby girls to Sephora, trust me, when mama buys HER makeup at Walmart, drugstore and dollar tree. 2. Parents are either working outside the home, or keeping grass mowed, gardens growing their veggies, (taking their FAMILIES to church) and just generally living a good life. You find peace this way too 🤗
So now "chicken legs" are suddenly the IN thing? What? I used to get made fun of for my skinny legs😂 I refuse to believe that society has crumbled this much 💀
well, people used to be bullied for having freckles, and now people are getting them tattooed on their faces. so yeah I think society is falling at an exponential rate
Its also a poison that is destroying the youth by making mental illnesses easier and easier to self diagnose and make people want to get them for attention.
It's better to see your physical traits as a normal thing we don't see cats clipping their ears and tails off for some imaginary non existent beautie standards.
People have always been vain. That's why we have ancient fables telling us not to fall into that trap, of loving ourselves too much. It's not something that tik tok has created. It's definitely not something that another person does to you. Vanity is completely 100% your own doing. Stop trying to be like others, and stop trying to make others not be themselves. Everyone is here shaming people for having "leggings legs", which is worse than people posting videos of themselves appreciating their own body, no matter what their shape is.
AAAAND as a character designer I feel obligated to write this: High visual weight and low visual weight don't determine whether you're pretty or not. High visual weight = more noticeable features ex. dark wavy hair, thick sharp eyebrows etc Low visual weight = more delicate features ex. pixie blond hair and pink round lips In fact visual weight can determine in which clothes/colours you look better but You are not an animated character, You are a human.
thank you, this explains why it actually made sense what they were saying, but why I was wondering "why does this matter lol" okay makes sense. ITS FOR CHARACTER DESIGN but does gen z not treat real life like we are characters to design? lmao ugh, thank u for this info
They do say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are people who can view things that most see as beautiful and only see flaws, but then find that perfect person for them and all the flaws that others see are either non existent to the person or they just love them on the person
Funny you mention the color because as an Italian I can't wear green, despite it being my favorite color, because it highlights the olive undertones, making us look like we have the plague. Just a part of life. But the beauty is everyone has options now instead of whatever was pulled off the sheep herd in the next village.
The fact that over lining originally started as a trend to mimic the fuller lip effects that a double lip line has naturally and now they are using over lining to HIDE a double lip line is classic TikTok insanity 🤦♀️
real, but I was lining my double lip line like that before it had a name tbh. my bottom lip just have a tricky shape and no definitive line. So it's usually easier for me to underline it slightlyyy
I actually use them to make my eyeliner lmaoo, it's a lot easier and saves me time, + it actually looks good (I do puppy eyeliner,?? Apparently that's what it's called, basically it's just a wider wing but shorter)
I have a similar looking scar near my eye and I use it to draw in eyeliner. I got that scar from an injury when I was a kid and it makes wearing eyeliner much easier.
Can we stop using the Kardashian/Jenner clans as a whole as a "good" example of attractive appearances? When we all know none of them really have anything natural on their faces and bodies anymore?
You’ve kinda proved the point she was making around ‘make up’ pretty being ‘bad’. ‘Natural beauty is the only valid beauty’ is what it reads as. Like nobody looks up to the Kardashians, they haven’t for a good while, they’re relevant because haters bring them up everywhere. Like damn leave them alone and get on with it
@@bonjouritsready I said nothing about makeup. Makeup is a temporary thing that everyone can imitate and replicate without going under the knife. I'm talking about surgeries and everytime a new insecurity happens, the perpetrators tend to use the Kardashian/Jenner as the "good" example - the way you should inspire to look like and if not, welcome to the insecurity-ville. When almost everyone of that family has the works done to create a new beauty standard.
The fact grown adults play into these “hate my body trends” is unbelievable. We should be propping up self love and being comfortable in our own skin. Why must my young daughter constantly hear what’s unattractive? She might not be on tictok but her whole elementary school is with their phone playing it at every opportunity. Also, elementary age students with phones is my other problem.
Not role model behaviour for young people to look up to. We have the power to positively influence the youth and we should instead of displaying negative behaviour all over social media.
That is what the original purpose of the body positivity movement had been for. To help people accept their bodies and how they are unique and beautiful. Then the fat nation attacked and took over the body positivity movement, and began to force their fat lives on everyone.

guys... my mom took away my phone away from me for a month cause she saw i was dying inside, and not even joking, i became the happiest i've been in years after getting cut off from the online world... honestly it helped me realize how unhealthy social media is...
i deleted instagram and tiktok a few months back and i dont regret it. i mean sure. my body image problems didnt go away, but theyre also not worse now...
“Not everyone should be the same, that would be boring” My little pony literally made a 2 part episode on why this would be boring and no one listened :’)
As woman in my mid fifties who is insecure about my naturally aging face I am so thankful I can't afford any of that crap! Im still beautiful and have earned every wrinkle!
I'm turning 41 this year and honestly hate the way my face has aged. I have so much dryness around my eyes and of course am starting to get "smile line" and other wrinkles. Nothing crazy but it's still something I'm insecure about along with a lot on the rest of my body too
As a Woman myself who’s turning 23 in May 15th. I’m glad I can’t afford these either. Even if I could afford them. I still wouldn’t get them. Skincare That Works, Hygiene, Eating Healthier and Working Out is key. Don’t need all Botox, Plastic Surgery, Nose Job and Lip Filler crap! Growing old naturally it’s only cheaper, it’s also healthier to do so.
Maybe it's because I don't primarily work on characters that may require this (I do humanoids, but most don't have visible faces due to having armor or being shadow-formed) but I'm still confused, LOL. But then again, I like my OCs as they are too. I don't need some random TTer telling me how to design my own characters. I tend to usually work best with spooky and edgy designs so that's what I do. They're more inspiring, haha.
THANK YOU! honestly I’m getting fed up with how little research goes into her videos lately. I stopped watching for a while because of it, but I see nothing has changed. It’s a shame
So we went from wanting a thigh gap to thicc thighs to legging legs…? 💀 Also I’ve been working out and I started seeing my calves showing when I flex and I was so happy.
For me, I like little bit muscular legs, so I work out and grow some glutes, tho legging legs gonna be the trend, I won't change my body just to follow the trend, I love thicc tight, and I work for that, so let me happy with that, I hope if legging legs become a trend people around me just minding themself and leave my thick legs alone, and not making fun of it We can't just change our body to fit certain trends, just be happy with it or improve thing that can be improved (health wise)
The thing about “trends” is that they don’t last very long. Next week it’ll be something else for these harpies to harp on. These trends are just made up because they get the most traffic on TikTok. I used to follow the trends but I stopped. I’m just doing what makes me happy I don’t care what others think. It’s usually girls judging themselves against other girls. Men don’t care 😂 😂. I have big calves for a girl because I did gymnastics for many years.
"When this guy try to flirt with me but he has a negative cantal view: 🤢🤮: "When he calls me ugly but my jawline is sharper than his:🗿" Literally NO ONE ever said that before the existence of tiktok and now I see that every day. It reminds me of that scene on mean girls when Cady said "I used to think there was just fat and skinny but appearently there's a lot of things that can be wrong on your body" And they started talking about split ends and big foreheads and we all thought it was stupid. Is this the reality nowadays??
No it’s not reality, it’s only and ONLY on TikTok. If you go outside no one will say that, Gen z thinks theyre the only gens out there. (I’m a gen z) 😭 These chronically online people are just delusional. Most of the time I think they create fake scenarios to gain views and seem relatable.
I always believed that those "tear stains" (which I assume is skin discoloration) were just nature's eyeshadow. No idea why folks are finding even the smallest things to call "ugly".
I just hate mine because whatever makeup I put there ends up gone in a few hours and it looks weird. It took me YEARS to find an eyeliner that could stick to my “tear stains” but I’ve had no luck with eyeshadow
@@21cormorants I bought some recently and it definitely helped a bit. It was still a little bit gone but it didn’t look like I had just swiped a make up wipe on part of my eye lol. I’ll definitely try wetting it, thanks! 😊
Personally if you ask me I think a lot of cosmetic surgeons are pushing some of these practices simply to make money off vulnerable insecure people. That’s just my opinion/theory tho
Throwback to when tiktok was majority teenagers because it was JUST transitioning from Musically and everything was unserious. Wtf happened to this app bro ??
I honestly would give my soul for TikTok to have stayed as the silly cringe app where kids did dumb little dances and my anime facial expressions forever instead of turning into the soul-sucking, completely damaging app it has.
Ask yourself this. Why is Chinese tiktok different from the western ones? in the Chinese version, they filter alot of this shit out. Meanwhile in the western one they actively promote it. its why mental illness has skyrocketed in the west.
Im an overweight 14 year old girl and its so hard to be okay with my body when all society does is try to make you insecure. Ive had really bad mental health and am trying to get better. In 4th grade one of my friends said he couldn't be my friend because i was fat. Thats where all my insecurities began.
honey if that so called friend said he didn’t want to be friends with u bc u were fat… then that wasn’t a FRIEND AT ALL!!! You should surround yourself with ppl that love u the way that u are and genuinely care about u… not these people saying they don’t want to be friends with u bc of ur appearance… ur more than just your appearance and weight, you’re unique and special!! And at the end, sometimes it’s better to be by yourself and ik you’re still young, but I know you got this. Don’t let others make you unhappy… don’t be with ppl who have negative energy bc it won’t do you any good. Focus on your mental health, do things u enjoy… and most importantly, Take care of urself!!! Do things FOR U!! Bc at the end of the day, you only have yourself and you know yourself better than anyone. I hope you’re doing okay ❤️❤️and I want you to know you’re beautiful !!🥰🥰
It’s tough at your age. I was around your age when I finally realized that I didn’t give a shit what other people thought of me. My schoolmates tried to tear me down, and I just wanted to keep being me instead of whoever they thought I should be. It took listening to a lot of Rage Against the Machine to get there. There are so many more important things in this world than what we all look like. Losing a friend like that sucks. But, it’s better to shed shit people (or let them shed themselves) than to listen to their judgments. Good luck. Teenage years are nuts. Listen to some old punk music where the message is about unity and telling the system to go F itself.
Honey, the only people telling you that are textbook bullies: putting you down in order to feel better about themselves. Chasing societal beauty standards is an addiction. No matter how pretty you are, it will never be enough. Some jerk out there will always find something wrong with you. It’s important to not let them get to you. Remember, instagram is fake. Social media is fake. From filters to surgeries, it’s all fake. I’d recommend taking a look around at the people you pass in real life. Very few people look like a tik tok video. You’re perfect just the way you are, don’t let people lie to you ❤️
As someone who has been called fat all of my life and shamed for my body in many ways, I am now just starting to accept almost all of my body for the beauty that it is, like all of the natural stuff (stretch marks, hip dips, cellulite, etc.) but I’m not completely there yet. Although western society is still so rigid with beauty standards, there is a good handful of representation for us curvy girls. Examples being curvy girl books, (big boned, fat chance Charlie Vega, Leah and the offbeat), tv shows like My Mad Fat Diary and Ugly Betty, and some movies too that have better representation. The TH-cam channel called JuicybodyGoddess is also really good. Also recognizing that body neutrality is really important and good as well. I hope this helps because I wish I had known and had more of these pieces of media when I was that age. I know it’s hard but you are beautiful 🫶❤️ also beauty is subjective as well because you never know what somebody likes and what should only matter is your personality 😊
This is for anyone who needs to hear this. When i was 12 - 13 years old All I heard from my classmate was you are fat and that kept replaying on my mind everyday. I stopped eating... I developed anorexia (i already have anemia) my skin was as pale as a ghost and i did not have enough iron or blood left in my body. My hair was falling out. I lived like that for 4 years. I was admitted into a hospital in June of 2023 They put me on I.V for blood transfusion and iron transfusion. This was the most painful time of my life. After that life scare at the hospital. I have not given two shits about what anyone has said/thought about me. I am on earth to live my life how i want to not how other people want me to The trip to the hospital was my wake-up call. Please make my comment your wake up call. Much love to everyone ❤️ Be healthy, be happy and live life to the fullest. Don't sweat the small stuff ❤️❤️❤️
Bruh this is so scary. I was born in 2000 and I thought 90's and 00's skinny culture was brutal. I feel so bad for these little girls with Sephora culture and tik Tok preying on insecurities
I'm an 06 person, it's a good thing I deleted tiktok when I was 16 years old. People need to stop scrolling mindlessly and touch grass, or at least have hobbies ffs-
The weirdest thing about this is, that as an artist, things like “tear stains” and philtrum are the things that people pronounce to make their characters MORE ATTRACTIVE!! Like genuinely if you have these things and are insecure, go straight to the art community they’ll love you as a muse (everyone is gorgeous regardless of if they do have these things or not)
Maybe that's why my immediate reaction was "why SMALLER?" cause as an artist I love trying to draw the pronounced upper lip and others always seem to agree it looks good. Not that it being smaller is ugly or something, but what in the world decided that either one is ugly? It's so weird!
@@poppyalt7427 the philtrum is the space between the bottom of the nose and the top of the upper lip, so if you're drawing fuller upper lips, you may have a preference for shorter philtrums
@caryndanae1951Literally same!! I never downloaded TT in my life, and I can’t even handle IG there’s no way I’m gonna handle TT☠️it’s js crazy atp. Pinterest and yt 4ever❤️
I can go further than having no TikTok...I HAVE NO SOCIALS WHATSOEVER HA! (well, I've an FB, but I abandoned it for various reasons, mental health definitely being a key one)
Im so tired of TikTok slowly changing everyone into the same person. There's no point in being human if we're all the same. You should not be insecure in what makes you stand out and special and unique. And also tear stains? Oh god y'all.
I blame the insecurities on all of those women who have took the radical beliefs, and just started spewing it on TikTok, because TikTok won’t stop them Because there’s so much radical feminism and radical ideologies coming from women in so many things that these 30 and four year old women are creating insecurities in teenagers by creating impossible beauty standards And at the same time they’re blaming men because everything that these women are doing on TikTok it’s not their fault it’s because of the patriarchy and that’s a constant message. Everyone somehow believes it Cuz you look at TikTok. It is female, dominated in every wave by user base and creators. And for some reason whenever a man says, something hateful immediately gets deleted, but if a woman said something hateful, it stays there it doesn’t get deleted you could literally see the most hateful things you want you can unreasonably have somebody channel shut down just because you don’t like them And God forbid if you are a mess right activist going on TikTok, they will bully you off of the fucking platform by literally mass reporting your channel and you can’t do anything about it because TikTok is going to delete it because they don’t really care about protecting free speech they just want the TikTok users to self regulate themselves What do you think it’s filled with radicals in crazy people because they’re the ones who determine what is the Contant is allowed And if you make some content that is actually saying in talks about men’s rights, issues or how the feminist have got out of control you get your video deleted, even if you say it in a non-hateful way But these women can literally say whatever the fuck they want about men they could literally talk out there point by point plan on how to kill her husband and nothing will happen. They won’t even get a ban let alone investigated TikTok is a toxic pit of feminist, an angry women
Tick-tock is nothing more than angry pics filled with angry women, angry feminist, Ange, soy boy feminists I don’t even have a single shred of individuality. They’re literally a slave to the woman Because they believe they should be But if you have an independent thought, idea or is different, you will be bullied off the platform If you are posting about your insecurities, instead of people, saying, you look good, or that’s not true, you shouldn’t be insecure you’ll have your comments flooded with people saying yeah you’re ugly and it’s not men saying these things it’s usually women from their main account because they’re not afraid to get banned Yeah, there is a few brand new mail accounts that get created to bully people because there is mail to believe women on the platform but those guys get deleted so quickly that they don’t even bother creating a profile picture Meanwhile, these women can literally bully a girl into suicide, and they still get to post videos, and nothing happens to them
I laughed at that clip you showed where an influencer was saying that she was mocked for getting Botox at 21 but now she’s 29 and she still doesn’t have wrinkles. Girl I didn’t get wrinkles around my eyes until my early 40s. I still don’t have forehead wrinkles and I’m in my 50s, it’s genetics babe. It has nothing to do with Botox.
And thing is every person genetics is different, in my case I have pronounced and very very visible undereye lines since I was a literal baby, what should my mom had done? Getting her toddler undereye fillers ? lmao I'm glad as 90s kid I didn't grow up with TikTok bcause seeing how current very young generations are doing anti age skincare and getting botox would have fcked me up very bad
Nah Fr my mom is in her 60’s and BARELY has any wrinkles or even acne, bumps or any of the sort. She’s never got anything done to her or even use any fancy products and skin care. One because her family was dirt poor and 2 her mom never allowed her since she always said it can and will ruin ur face. my mom listened and look at my mom now. She looks like she can be in her late 40’s - early 50’s. And same for me, my sisters, cousins and aunts. We all don’t really have any acne and wrinkles.

imagine worrying about your legs being a certain aesthetic instead of the fact that they WORK and that they give you the ability to walk around and experience life. seriously people, have more appreciation and love for life and the things you have. the world is trying to drag us down and not be happy and enjoy the life we are blessed with.
As someone who is insecure of themselves at 18 , things like this make me feel happy that i’m on a completely different side of tiktok because if i saw videos like this everyday, I would just feel worse about myself than i already do

The majority of people you see on social media with perfect and flawless faces use make up and filters. I have many female friends who post on social media and they look completely different in real life
Calf reduction procedures been trending for a long time in asian countries like China, a lot of toxic trends off douyin seems to have picked traction in the West. It was just a matter of time before this one was going to be a thing
Yup… East-asianboom has effectively been normalizing these surgeries in the west it’s actually crazy how fast it is happening. It’s literally so bad that there’s no Asian plastic surgeons on TH-cam effectively advertising their work and a bhnxh of people are being influenced to do this. And say anything bad about the surgeries and people will try to drag you. Another jarring thing too is the people who are trying to change races? Tiktok has so many videos like this of young girls taking pics of idols and random Asian girls they find online and trying to manifest themselves changing races? It’s crazy. A lot of them use photos that have been edited by snow app too so they don’t even know (or Maybe don’t care) that the person they are trying to look like, doesn’t even look like that themselves IRL
In my country opposite is happening. Btw I live in an Asian country. These trends start getting attention when it is promoted in West. We have this they are better ideology and copying West mindlessly. How weird things are going on.
the “tear stain” is so pretty to me, i’ve never knew what it was called but i think if anyone has it they’re pretty, but honestly every normal human is just prettty.
Wow... People are even more disconnected from reality than I thought. And I remember a few years ago, it seemed like people started to obsess about nasolabial folds overnight.. I've had them since I was a baby and I've never given it an extra thought until people started to obsess about it. Like wtf?
You know... After all the attacks on our self esteem we had to survive, it's especially gross that we're allowing today's kids to fall right into the self esteem shredder. We're supposed to be the adults in the room, and we are failing these kids! And in many cases, pushing them in! Signed, a terrified millennial
im fairly sure that the face angle thing and the visual weight thing is actual eugenics. it reminds me of the angel vs witch face thing going around not too long ago
Yes, it's phrenology. It basically ends with teaching that ethnic features (particularly African and 'Jewish' features you see in racist caricatures) are somehow indicative of someone being a bad or evil person.
For my mental well being I got rid of all those shitty apps including instagram towards the end of 2023. I can't describe the intense happiness and peace which I'm now experiencing. Now I'm healing❤️
Leg botox is where I draw the line. I've had calves that don't fit in knee-high boots and look like they could strangle a butternut squash within an inch of it's life for as long as I can remember and they're my favorite feature. I think they scare away weak men so honestly 10/10.
I have a feeling that these trends are picking up traction because the increasing popularity of kpop and Chinese douyin beauty standards. Even the Kardashians removed their BBLs just to fit into the "skinny girl" trend. Imma tell you now, those kpop idols' bodies are not healthy, a lot of them have admitted to eating one meal a day or even starving themselves for a full week to have the bodies that they have. Like, I'm so tired that so many people are just glorifying it and not genuinely being worried 🤦🏽♀️
It's sadly not a feeling anymore, it's a fact. Fans of douyin and K-pop are annoyingly blind to the toxicity they condone. 22-inch waist on a grown woman? Shoulder blades poking out? Poreless glass skin? What's worse is that the Chinese fashion industry makes their clothes in such a way that a normal, healthy grown woman's body is sized as 2XL. I'm Asian and small myself and I'll say it; the standards are borderline inhumane.
Skinny calf thing is a big beauty standard in east asia. I've was into kpop when it wasn't so mainstream in the west. Wish we asian girlies would've just gatekeeped it because bro it is not doing anyone any good tbh
The amount of time I spent in the gym to build these tree trunk legs/calfs of mine, I’ll be DAMNED 😂😂 The only thing these trends told me is I need to work harder in my biceps and triceps 😅 I grew up insanely skinny (like 00 skinny) and I hated how I looked, complete skeleton. Now I have shape, weight, stretch marks, and cellulite (don’t even have kids 😅) and I’m IN LOVE with my new body 🥰 the gym saved my life I swear
TikTok is literally a psych op against the youth . Goes to show why the most degenerate trends go viral and kids have died from A LOT of TikTok challenges
I love your channel. There are so many things that people are insecure about that they should not be even thinking about. I really think social media has given people a false sense of beauty.
Not watching TikTok that much and getting compliments from my friends are the reason why I am less insecure as someone who is chubby. Edit: MOM IM FAMOUS!!! Thanks for the likes ❤ Edit 2: the reply section is so chaotic welp 😭😂😂😂

You can literally change the term “visual weight” to contrast and it makes infinitely more sense. If you’re wearing a really dark lip color alongside pale eye makeup and light clothes it might seem a bit out of place. But if you’re wearing dark clothes and have bold eye makeup, it’s a lot easier to make a darker lip fit. Skin tone and hair color will obviously play into that too, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t pull off off really bold high contrast makeup look as someone with pale skin and pale hair, or a softer/low contrast look with dark hair and dark skin.
As a lifting and kickboxing enthusiast I actively TRY to build my calves, they're so important for stamina and power - this is horrible and reminiscent of the foot-binding trend of ancient China.
These insecurities start trending because one person thinks that they are better than others so they will pick something absolutely ridiculous to nitpick on , to drag others down and feel like they are the main character.
This is why I hate TikTok, and most similar social media apps (I really only use TH-cam). I'm already insecure enough about my body, and this has gotten insane how people are making up more things to be insecure about. We're all different, and we're all beautiful. Let's not forget that.
Take some advice from a complete stranger, Yes I know what im about to say contradicts what Im about to say but anyways. Why care about what random assholes think of you and your looks. Do they pay your bills? do they do your laundry? do they give you food? do they pay your rent? do they do anything for you? are they a significant other that you value their opinions? if no. then what do their opinions really matter? If they don't like you, then what ever. If they hate you. that means they are jealous of something you have that they do not, and just want to bring you down so you feel as badly as they do. Embrace your body and find ways to love yourself and improve for your sake through good hygiene, exercise, good food, and good company.
@@AzraelSeraphino Well yes but actually no. Let's not forget shorts exist because of tiktok (I have a love-hate relationship with shorts thanks to that)
I was in school and someone came up to me and said “you shouldn’t wear that” (I was wearing leggings) “you don’t have legging legs” LIKE BRO DO I KNOW YOU
Every time I open tiktok I see these videos and just go "Oh, so this is what we're doing now? Okay..." but I'm really realizing how ridiculous all of it is with everything being pulled together and examined like this. I've thankfully not fallen prey to any of these trends, but it's comforting to know that there are people out here questioning what the hell is going on
I would like to mention that Botox is basically injecting Botulinum Toxin in your body. This is a neurotoxin which damages the neural connection in muscles, and since the muscles are not able to move, fine lines and wrinkles become invisible. Over time your muscles will adapt and start getting wrinkles at places where no one gets them. This simply happens to make facial movements more efficient. Botox causes *flaccid paralysis* Search this term and you will really question the concept of Botox for cosmetic purposes. Your pain reception will also be damaged in that area. Also, a little mistake in dosage can cause death, since this is the most dangerous toxin known till date. Hayley, I would request you to pin this comment so that people become aware about this topic, Botox fever is spreading faster than anything.
Let’s make this an info chain so she can pin: Mob formality; when people follow a group’s actions even when you aren’t sure why you’re doing it. For example, if everyone is clapping when you were taking a nap, then you start clapping. You don’t have a clear reason why, but you still do it to fit in. Resist the mob formality! Become your own self!
Yup. Many people who have the frozen botox face develop weird creases around their nose (aka exacerbated nasolabial folds) and they look like they just smelled something nasty all the time. It's because when they try to form any facial expression, their face can't move so those muscles contract because they're the only ones left alone.
HACK FOR NOT FEELING INSECURE: pretend someone who you hate/think is dumb is saying the little comments (like ‘oh your arms are too skinny” etc) and then be like “no they aren’t you just want to see me fail but i’m gonna wear a tank top just to piss you off 💅” (it doesn’t work all the time but it works a lot of the time). hope this helps!
I assign different fictional characters to those thoughts depending on the type of negative thought they are, so then I tell them specifically to shut up, it gives me a little laugh getting to frame it like it's my rpg companion nitpicking me. Helps me remember just how silly it is to tear yourself down
Ngl this is just **sad** as a 12 year old who is INSANELY insecure of herself having TikTok ruined the way I looked at myself and the amount of “fake” things on there (fake vents fake trauma comparing trauma etc) it’s just sad I wish it was back to just doing things like lip syncs and fidget spinners
As a 15 year old who has really struggled with my self image i really get where you are coming from. I really wish tiktok stayed how it was a few years ago. There was no new insecurities every week like there is now. also EMUUU!!
that sounds horrible… ik tiktok is hard to quit completely if you’ve been on it for a long time but also ik a tip which is, if you ever see videos ab all these made up insecurities pls do not interact w them, dont like them comment on them or even watch them all the way thru, the algorithm will stop feeding you that awful content if you act completely uninterested in it. and pls remember that no matter how important those things seem while you’re on the app none of it will affect you ever in real life.❤
ok, 20 something here. i hope you don't mind me giving you advice. i've been 12 year old and that age is already so weird because we are going through so many changes physically and mentally, and well, hormonally too. And so, love, i recommend trying to quit tiktok and take a diary or camera or both and go around the house, around the neighbourhood and make some memories. i was an anime addict at that time and my insecurity about my figure developed from watching those unrealistic anime girls. so whatever you see, you'll want to become like that. so by detaching from tiktok, you might find some wholesome things to take inspiration from. tbh, iwould recommend everyone to quit digital life, only use it for communication because it really takes over such aspects of your life that you struggle to get rid of it when older.
I have fetal alcohol syndrome and my philtrum is long and completely smooth because that’s a facial feature associated with the condition. This has never once bothered me and I’ve never even thought about it much throughout my life. People are wayyy too obsessed with their appearance thanks to TikTok! I honestly think it would’ve been for the best if this platform never existed.
Thank you so much for stating the obvious in all this madness! It's so refreshing and true. I also really appreciate the way you express yourself and made this video.
These insecurities being projected onto other 14 year olds are going to die out anyway, so what is the point of this bullying? I swear humanity has fallen so much it’s uncanny
the double lip line deadass never came across as an insecurity to me, I first saw it in a tutorial on how to line your lips/put lipstick on if you have one and I was like "oh yeah that makes sense that's helpful" and moved on, and I still use those tips now because it makes it easier to me. I never saw anything pointing it out as something to be insecure about, and I was never insecure about it. hard on the point where tiktok and Tumblr are just manufacturing insecurity, like it's fine if you're insecure about something but why are you projecting it onto others and making a whole trend out of it? "one wipe and it's gone", " take her swimming on the first date" thought we were fighting *against* stuff like this man, not adding fuel to it
So I tried it as an experiment and personally adding and taking away contrast didn’t make alot of difference, the main thing I noticed was that my eyes and hair were less noticeable when low contrast and more noticeable when high, I have almost black eyes and brown hair
i tried it in settings w different light and the darker light made the high contrast clearer, while the brighter light made the low contrast clearer. bc that is what the contrast tool does lmao
Stuff like this is exactly why I'm quitting social media. Like the content being made is just designed to make you insecure at this point. I was deeply insecure about how I looked as a kid and I only recently got to a point where I could see myself in a full body mirror without being repulsed by my reflection and I am NOT going back like wtf are these trends???
My insecurity was my calves. I had it since I was teen. My calves are not slim and it’s because my illness. Now, as an adult, I’m happy that I have legs that can carry me and I can walk. Seeing young girls with really nice and normal looking calves and being insecure about them is sad. I had a time that I couldn’t wear ankle boots because they were too slim for my legs. (Now it’s better but it’s not about it rn) Again, it saddens me that young girls have another stupid insecurity because of tik tok. (Btw sorry for my english if there are some mistakes)
I’m 30, but I’ve been told multiple times that people assume that I’m in my early 20s. It’s all about how you carry yourself. I’m a genuinely happy person and I think my happiness helps. Also genetics. My sister is 26 and works with college students and they always think she’s 18 😂 I also like being 30. It felt like a weight was taken off my shoulders
I just watched for around 10 min Hayley roast people who make other insecure and also compliment everybody in a realy agressive way😮. It's kinda chaotic but also made me feel better today☺️
The strange thing, as someone really into make-up, I have heard of double lip-lines before. HOWEVER, I’ve only ever heard of them being discussed in the context of how to contour your lip shape to get a variety of looks, never in a positive or negative context - it’s was just another facet of the face to be considered when deciding what kind of pout you wanna paint on that day. How is this something that people have such strong feelings over?
Dang, I'm so glad I never got into tiktok. I've seen all sorts of videos about it, about the awful bullying, dangerous challenges, trendy consumerism that caused people to literally fight over water bottles, young/beginner artists being ruthlessly bullied off the app just for sharing their art, and now spreading insecurities like a disease. Honestly it just seems like an awful place. I feel like the anonymity contributes a lot to it, since most people probably wouldn't just insult someone to their face in real life.
Dude i didn’t even know people are insecure about that cause THATS WHERE I ADD BROWN EYESHADOW TO SHADE BEFORE MY EYELINER 💀💀 i’ve been deliberately going out of my way to add smth on my face people are insecure about cause i think it makes my eyes look cuter- 😀 ppl are so weird on tik tok oml
This whole situation oddly reminds me of the song 'Scars to Your Beautiful' by Alessia Cara (great song btw). Especially the chorus of that song which goes "There's a hope thats waiting in the dark. You should know you're beatiful just the way you are, and you don't have to change a thing, the world can change it's heart. Those scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful"
And they blame it on men Because every single time they get cold out, they say oh it’s because of the toxic men on this platform Even though that’s only like .2% of the population in every single one of their comments, get deleted in a heartbeat because they’re a man. But if a woman says something hateful it’s OK Not to mention the fact that any woman who spoke out against feminism, and stood up for men’s right, was bullied off the platform Feminism has literally hijack TikTok as their own little echo chamber mouthpiece

@@ATWTMVTVFTVSGAVLPSS13it's 17+?
I really wish we could find out who comes up with these "trends"
I’m so happy you take pride in your ear when many others would feel ashamed. Keep loving yourself ❤
Wow, seems like baby you really couldn't sleep in the womb that time
Mine is my nose, it tips over more prominently on one side. But unluckily, i have insecurities with mine. nah i think it's just the fact that you can't win in these situations. the trends on social media change every 2 weeks if we're lucky
Social media is making people disgustingly vain. There’s so much more value to a person than their looks
Its also a poison that is destroying the youth by making mental illnesses easier and easier to self diagnose and make people want to get them for attention.
Woman's and men doing this are full of utter sh+t
Mr anti bully.
"and i have slapping hands" is so real, I love that dude for standing up to this ridiculous crap
AAAAND as a character designer I feel obligated to write this:
High visual weight and low visual weight don't determine whether you're pretty or not. High visual weight = more noticeable features ex. dark wavy hair, thick sharp eyebrows etc
Low visual weight = more delicate features ex. pixie blond hair and pink round lips
In fact visual weight can determine in which clothes/colours you look better but You are not an animated character, You are a human.
thank you, this explains why it actually made sense what they were saying, but why I was wondering "why does this matter lol" okay makes sense. ITS FOR CHARACTER DESIGN but does gen z not treat real life like we are characters to design? lmao ugh, thank u for this info
This!! It has nothing to do with actual weight and everything to do with contrast.
Dang instead of worrying abt myself I'm worried I've been designing my characters wrong 💀

I always believed that those "tear stains" (which I assume is skin discoloration) were just nature's eyeshadow. No idea why folks are finding even the smallest things to call "ugly".

Yes me too. I use them to make my eyeliner even lmaoo

Awww❤ I promise you that one day when he/she realizes that they have left the best friend they could ever Imagen of he/she will come back to you♥♥
It’s tough at your age.
When i was 12 - 13 years old
All I heard from my classmate was you are fat and that kept replaying on my mind everyday.
I stopped eating... I developed anorexia (i already have anemia) my skin was as pale as a ghost and i did not have enough iron or blood left in my body. My hair was falling out.
I lived like that for 4 years.
I was admitted into a hospital in June of 2023
They put me on I.V for blood transfusion and iron transfusion.
This was the most painful time of my life.
After that life scare at the hospital. I have not given two shits about what anyone has said/thought about me.
I am on earth to live my life how i want to not how other people want me to
The trip to the hospital was my wake-up call. Please make my comment your wake up call.

Bruh this is so scary. I was born in 2000 and I thought 90's and 00's skinny culture was brutal. I feel so bad for these little girls with Sephora culture and tik Tok preying on insecurities
I’m a lot older than you and I stg, if my eating disorder was active now, I’d be fucked.
So ya gotta have stick legs and and a big round bum 💀 people actually falling into this trend got low iq
Yeah it really is. As a 15 year old recovering from an ed this does not help AT ALL. Body types shouldt be trends
I'm a 2009 kid. todays trends are so scary...
Like genuinely if you have these things and are insecure, go straight to the art community they’ll love you as a muse (everyone is gorgeous regardless of if they do have these things or not)
I actually love my tear stains.
I can't believe people are so insecure about it :(
Maybe that's why my immediate reaction was "why SMALLER?" cause as an artist I love trying to draw the pronounced upper lip and others always seem to agree it looks good. Not that it being smaller is ugly or something, but what in the world decided that either one is ugly? It's so weird!
Real
@@poppyalt7427 the philtrum is the space between the bottom of the nose and the top of the upper lip, so if you're drawing fuller upper lips, you may have a preference for shorter philtrums
Tear stains usually look like a natural eyeliner, it’s so pretty. Idk why people are so insecure about the most normal things ever

@caryndanae1951samee
THIS IS WHAT I'M SAYING!
the algos want everyone to be the same
I blame the insecurities on all of those women who have took the radical beliefs, and just started spewing it on TikTok, because TikTok won’t stop them
Because there’s so much radical feminism and radical ideologies coming from women in so many things that these 30 and four year old women are creating insecurities in teenagers by creating impossible beauty standards
And at the same time they’re blaming men because everything that these women are doing on TikTok it’s not their fault it’s because of the patriarchy and that’s a constant message. Everyone somehow believes it Cuz you look at TikTok. It is female, dominated in every wave by user base and creators.
And for some reason whenever a man says, something hateful immediately gets deleted, but if a woman said something hateful, it stays there it doesn’t get deleted you could literally see the most hateful things you want you can unreasonably have somebody channel shut down just because you don’t like them
And God forbid if you are a mess right activist going on TikTok, they will bully you off of the fucking platform by literally mass reporting your channel and you can’t do anything about it because TikTok is going to delete it because they don’t really care about protecting free speech they just want the TikTok users to self regulate themselves
What do you think it’s filled with radicals in crazy people because they’re the ones who determine what is the Contant is allowed
And if you make some content that is actually saying in talks about men’s rights, issues or how the feminist have got out of control you get your video deleted, even if you say it in a non-hateful way
But these women can literally say whatever the fuck they want about men they could literally talk out there point by point plan on how to kill her husband and nothing will happen. They won’t even get a ban let alone investigated
TikTok is a toxic pit of feminist, an angry women
Tick-tock is nothing more than angry pics filled with angry women, angry feminist, Ange, soy boy feminists I don’t even have a single shred of individuality. They’re literally a slave to the woman
Because they believe they should be
But if you have an independent thought, idea or is different, you will be bullied off the platform
If you are posting about your insecurities, instead of people, saying, you look good, or that’s not true, you shouldn’t be insecure you’ll have your comments flooded with people saying yeah you’re ugly and it’s not men saying these things it’s usually women from their main account because they’re not afraid to get banned
Yeah, there is a few brand new mail accounts that get created to bully people because there is mail to believe women on the platform but those guys get deleted so quickly that they don’t even bother creating a profile picture
Meanwhile, these women can literally bully a girl into suicide, and they still get to post videos, and nothing happens to them
I’m so glad social media was such a small part of my childhood
Let’s start a new trend, letting people live with their bodies because let’s be honest, this is ridiculous.
yep body acceptance is the way
If tik tok disappeared, the self esteem of people of all ages (but specially teenage girls) would sky rocket.
I love how Hayley is saying we shouldn’t be insecure but she says in such a harsh way
If you have legs, YOU HAVE LEGGINGS LEGS!!!!
I like wearing leggings lol
Idk why ppl were concerned about having thin legs for leggings when I feel like either most ppl would not care at all
I laughed at that clip you showed where an influencer was saying that she was mocked for getting Botox at 21 but now she’s 29 and she still doesn’t have wrinkles.

Let’s make this an info chain so she can pin:
Mob formality; when people follow a group’s actions even when you aren’t sure why you’re doing it.
I get botox for migraines, I actually miss my forehead wrinkles, they made my face more expressive.
HACK FOR NOT FEELING INSECURE: pretend someone who you hate/think is dumb is saying the little comments (like ‘oh your arms are too skinny” etc) and then be like “no they aren’t you just want to see me fail but i’m gonna wear a tank top just to piss you off 💅” (it doesn’t work all the time but it works a lot of the time). hope this helps!

ok, 20 something here. i hope you don't mind me giving you advice. i've been 12 year old and that age is already so weird because we are going through so many changes physically and mentally, and well, hormonally too.

I’m 21 and I could never imagine having poison injecting literal poison in my face..
These insecurities being projected onto other 14 year olds are going to die out anyway, so what is the point of this bullying? I swear humanity has fallen so much it’s uncanny
Can’t we all just agree that TikTok and social media in general is toxic af and ruins people’s mental health?
i never noticed the "tear stain" thingy but i think it's really pretty. it's kinda like built-in eyeshadow
the double lip line deadass never came across as an insecurity to me, I first saw it in a tutorial on how to line your lips/put lipstick on if you have one and I was like "oh yeah that makes sense that's helpful" and moved on, and I still use those tips now because it makes it easier to me. I never saw anything pointing it out as something to be insecure about, and I was never insecure about it. hard on the point where tiktok and Tumblr are just manufacturing insecurity, like it's fine if you're insecure about something but why are you projecting it onto others and making a whole trend out of it? "one wipe and it's gone", " take her swimming on the first date" thought we were fighting *against* stuff like this man, not adding fuel to it
15:46 ,,, so adding contrast and taking away contrast? ofc adding contrast is going to make everyone’s ‘features clearer’ literally what
So I tried it as an experiment and personally adding and taking away contrast didn’t make alot of difference, the main thing I noticed was that my eyes and hair were less noticeable when low contrast and more noticeable when high, I have almost black eyes and brown hair
i tried it in settings w different light and the darker light made the high contrast clearer, while the brighter light made the low contrast clearer. bc that is what the contrast tool does lmao
Stuff like this is exactly why I'm quitting social media. Like the content being made is just designed to make you insecure at this point.
I was deeply insecure about how I looked as a kid and I only recently got to a point where I could see myself in a full body mirror without being repulsed by my reflection and I am NOT going back like wtf are these trends???
hayley out here aggressively making sure we all feel loved and beautiful 🥹🫶🏻
It’s like we turned 30 and the sky opened up and the clouds parted and holy shit we became free! (I’m in my mid 30s)
Yes same, I'm 24 and kids in the middle and high school I worked in thought I was 17
Tear stains and natural shades on your eyes are basically eyeshadow
I just watched for around 10 min Hayley roast people who make other insecure and also compliment everybody in a realy agressive way😮. It's kinda chaotic but also made me feel better today☺️
This is why I don’t have TikTok, too many insecurities and trends come out all at once. Life is hard enough, I don’t want things add to make it worse
He said "and I have slapping hands"!!! AAAHHHHH yes queen!!
I love Hayley's yelling
It's like the victim mindset, everyone wants to feel special and either find an insecurity or brag about not having that insecurity. It's trash.
Well my mum has tiktok and she has never heard this so u know like this is a diff side of tiktok
i think the "tear stains" are pretty and cute it's like natural eyeliner
Dude i didn’t even know people are insecure about that cause THATS WHERE I ADD BROWN EYESHADOW TO SHADE BEFORE MY EYELINER 💀💀 i’ve been deliberately going out of my way to add smth on my face people are insecure about cause i think it makes my eyes look cuter- 😀 ppl are so weird on tik tok oml
@@cookieism. me too! i literally had no idea that existed until i saw this video and haven't seen it since
This whole situation oddly reminds me of the song 'Scars to Your Beautiful' by Alessia Cara (great song btw). Especially the chorus of that song which goes
"There's a hope thats waiting in the dark. You should know you're beatiful just the way you are, and you don't have to change a thing, the world can change it's heart. Those scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful"
FR like people bullying other people insecurities have no personality
@ville__ bro why are u spamming? Ppl fr be thinking u a bot cos of it? Also. I really really doubt thats true. Unless u have proof
And they blame it on men
Because every single time they get cold out, they say oh it’s because of the toxic men on this platform
Even though that’s only like .2% of the population in every single one of their comments, get deleted in a heartbeat because they’re a man.
But if a woman says something hateful it’s OK
Not to mention the fact that any woman who spoke out against feminism, and stood up for men’s right, was bullied off the platform
Feminism has literally hijack TikTok as their own little echo chamber mouthpiece
TikTok is nothing more than a feminist, echo chamber mouthpiece
