We love Anza Borrego also! Thanks for introducing us to this wonderful park that we will come back to again and again. I love your concept of finding new things at favorite places. I’m going to adopt that mindset. John, hope you are feeling better.
Your hawk looked good for a red-tailed Hawk. Hearing the Common Raven talking in the background and the other birds chirping was nice. How wonderful, your sighting of the Kit Fox was wonderful. As usual your videos are beautiful and your musical choices are wonderful. I am playing with videos on my phones bit more and hoping to put so,etching together from my travels in March overseas.
Thank you Thank you. Because of your videos on Anza Borrego we went last year. What a great place and tons of things to do and see. We see your videos almost every week and always learn something or see a new place to explore. BTW - we bought an Omnia oven and love using it. Thanks for showing us new things. You inspire us to get out there. Laurie and Denise
You guys have a great rig and i love your attitude , Agua Caliente the warm springs S.D. County Park is worth a visit its very restful water is perfect w all the great qualities warm springs can bring for the body .
We have a Sprinter van too and have had that same problem with the door. It's a vacuum that gets created we figure too and only when we haven't used it for awhile. Safe trails 👣 👍
I love looking for something new every day in places familiar. I have been going up to the coast of Maine since I was less than a year old. Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than the knowledge that each day brings us closer to our next trip to ME. This fall we shot for a similar goal and in spite of the many, many trips prior we found a lot of new uncharted places & things to do which confirmed to me that although new places can be awesome, the beloved also have unknown adventures still yet to discover.
Very cool walk! Those palm trees remind me of the cabbage or sago palms in Fl. They are real fire hazards. They burn and then the top explodes and spreads the fire in all directions.
Nice pic of the V-22 in the opening. Also, sent you an email about John’s fall. Love the views and the sunsets! Will be back, but can’t take Bridger so that limits my hiking. Thanks for the video.
Hello Debbie and John. I am so sorry to hear for John's accident hoping he is healed by now. You both are so amazing how you pushed through and kept on hiking. You always inspire me to be the same! You are forgiven for not posting this video on Friday!!! I love you even more now. I noticed new jacket Debbie and John's outfit too. Thank you for your time and dedication to us. ❤️❤️❤️
What ever you put on Debbie it looks so good and with style. I now thanks to you only buy hoodies! You buy top quality items and you use them all the time. My favourite is you Patagonia purple vest.
Loved the video, both the scenery and the philosophy! I think we all totally relate to being drawn back to favourite places but also wanting new experiences. The chips & eggs😂 Makes perfect sense they’d go together but I would not have thought to combine the two. Great timing on the video! We are heading in that general direction - without a fridge🤣 Rewatched your fridge replacement video and your viewer’s video. Thank you both!
Nice video. Love the start showing the undercarriage. Anza-Borrego has been a big part of my life too. Family camping, Boy Scouts, two Geology Field Camps in college, with wife. Would probably have visited even more as an adult if it was closer to Northern California. Thanks for bringing us along
🤣🤣That supper looked Happy Dance worthy! Your videos are always so beautiful and well-coordinated with the music. I hadn't watched Sam the Cooking Guy, I'll give him a try. John, what a funny guy...anyone who hikes like y'all is probably not going to be at the Senior Center. Thanks for sharing all the new things with us! Way to go! Much love from SC, Jane ❤🙏 That double rainbow....WOW!!!!
John, you took the words right out of my mouth, I was thinking it, you said it, “happy dance”. 😂 I always enjoy your adventures. John, I hope you heal soon from the fall. Thank you!
Terrific photography and editing! We're looking forward to a trip there in a month or so to check out the spring bloom if it comes! We've done so many of those hikes but I've got 15 years on you and combined with Afib and BPPV I've slowed down considerably. We spent 2 months last summer in the Canadian Rockies and I really struggled so I really enjoy watching your hikes now and while I can't go the distance I can manage a mile or two. Tell John to keep that pole at the ready, I've learned the hard way what a nasty slip on a loose rock can do! As Dr. John said "Keep on keeping on"!
Yes, we have to keep pushing as long as we can. One of our favorite hikers is a channel called “Jupiter Hikes”. He’s sharing the PCT hike he did last summer. He has such a great attitude.
My experience is I see more wildlife when on a bike than I do on foot. I think because you come upon the wildlife much faster, before they react and hide.
I’m not sure if you’ve always thrown in some plant-based meals, or if I’ve just started noticing that you use sometimes use plant-based foods… but I am trying to eat more plant-based meals myself. Have you tried Trader Joe’s Beefless Korean Bulgogi? It is ahhhmazing!! I throw it in a skillet with some TJ’s vegetable fried rice and oh my… I do a happy dance for sure. Anza Borrego looked beautiful! That hidden oasis was gorgeous!
Hi Debbie and John. Just started watching your channel and just love your creativity and will be delighted to hear about all your adventures. I have a lot of catching up to do. We have a 2015 Ascent TS that we have had for 7 year years. We have sold our house and most of our stuff and will hit the road in February when my John retires. So excited to begin this adventure. Although we have camped for many years in all kinds of equipment, this will certainly be tight.. We have lived in Ridgecrest for the last 32 years. Although I have done so many of the same things that I have seen on your channel from my own 7 years camping in the Sprinter, I already have some things will need to get done based on only seeing 1/2 dozen of you videos . Again thanks and I would love to get connected with you.
My cousin was the CO at China Lake many years ago. Have only visited a few times but the proximity to my favorite places is wonderful. I can’t imagine living full time in this rig but more power to you for taking on the challenge. You’ll be able to teach us a few things before long.
So loved the cooking episode, too funny. Hope your bike fall healed up quickly John, I've done a couple of those, ouch! I have a Ford Transit campervan and my sliding door does the same thing, I really have to slam it to shut it. I did that too from the inside and the handle broke, got a new one and installed it with TH-cam video help. Now from the inside I grab the nub below the handle to slam it shut. Enjoyed your hikes and wildlife sightings. You reminded me, I want to try some gaiters on my shoes so I will order some. Love the find something new motto, great goal! Take care now, happy trails.
Were you cooking on an induction hot plate? If so, can you please provide info about it? I’ve used so many of your kitchen suggestions since you started this channel and would actually love to see an update of your current set up and new finds.
Thanks for another great video. I travel with 2 dogs so I appreciate you mentioning “no dogs on trails.” This area is on my list, but I think the not dog friendliness of the park is a deterrent.
Thanks for another very interesting video. I also return to campsites/aires that I have been to before in order to explore new places, and most of all restaurants, in their areas. But I cannot help going to the same Moroccan restaurant for years right after crossing the border to France. I open the door and the very friendly owner welcomes me "Bonjour, Monsieur Allemand!" and I can enjoy his excellent couscous dishes.
If you haven't checked it out yet, Fonts Point is the most beautiful view of the badlands. Absolutely stunning! There's several different hikes to access it, but the easiest to explain would be you parking your rig in the designated day parking area right off S22/Palm Canyon Dr., (parking area is about a 1/4mi from the AB dump). Definitely download the map first, as you won't have service while you're in the slot canyons, but there is spotty service at FP
@@FromShetoMe You might also try Culp Valley CG. Undeveloped and first come/ first served, it's a great place to be parked to hop on the California Riding & Hiking Trail. Hop over to the Jasper Truck Trail (there's a trail from the CG) to access another section of the CRHT for more stunning views. I think you'd be interested in the history of the CRHT, so it might be worth a google. Btw, FP and CRHT are both sections of the San Diego Trans-County Trail that spans from the Salton Sea to Torrey Pines (~165mi)
Fine with a plant-based hotdog, but potato chips and eggs...I don't know? Like the concept of experiencing a park again for the first time with new activities, except for potato chips and eggs, lol.
In your video, you mentioned having a pass to cover a fee. Is it an annual or lifetime senior pass? How do I get one? We love your videos! Keep them coming.
It’s an annual pass from the state. Very expensive but it covers the state beach near us which makes it worthwhile for us. $195 per year. Otherwise the day use fee is $10 at Anza Borrego unless you are camping and that will cover it for your visit.
I just got the new Insta360 camera and did it with the program you use to edit their videos. Basically it is just using key frames which you can do in most editing software.

Nope - the veggie dog created confusion. It would be nice for a cooking class in our rigs with you helping over the hump with the “oven”. Love you & John.
Are you changing your release day/time? 'Cause this came out at exactly the same time as VTL. That's the kind of momentous decision I'm not sure we're prepared for on Sunday morning...
@From She to Me I just wanted to say you guys owe your viewers nothing. If you want to take an extra day, an extra week, an extra month, please feel free to do so without reservation. Every video is a gift . I am waiting along with the entire world for new seasons of Ted Lasso and Stranger things and will be nothing but grateful the day they eventually show up. We wish you to be free to enjoy your lives and your adventures at your own pace. We'll wait!!
We love Ted Lasso. Haven't seen Stranger Things. Thanks for your encouragement. I may take a week off here and there but I also like the structure of posting one a week when I have content. We love looking back at where we've been but I especially like interacting with all of you guys, meeting people along the way, making new friends. That's what keeps the engine going.
Beautiful sunrise and sunsets!
I love Anza Borrego. Thanks for finding new things for me to explore.
You found Shangri-la! I need something like this in my life now. Thank you
Great info, love the music choices when you are hiking. 👍
Always enjoy watching your videos. We are trying to stay warm under our white blanket of snow.
We love Anza Borrego also! Thanks for introducing us to this wonderful park that we will come back to again and again. I love your concept of finding new things at favorite places. I’m going to adopt that mindset. John, hope you are feeling better.
Wow, canna believe this is just an hour outside SD on the mountain road. Must remember next time i'm in SD. ❤
Maybe more like 90 minutes because the road is winding.
Thanks for the hikes🚐
Thanks for sharing!
Love your informative, entertaining and so well-done videos. Living the life thru you guys. Feel better Long John.
Wow what a long hike for a guy with possible cracked ribs. You guys are such troopers. Great trip to an old place with new finds.
He’s all good now. Tomorrow Coyote Peak!
I ❤ watching you guys you always make me laugh. Debbie trying to eat the chips and eggs was to funny. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful shots. Love Borrego, it was beautiful last weekend. Thinking about going back in March.
Some of the flowers are already blooming.

@FromShetoMe Thank you, and in return, very well documented. 😉
Great video. Thank you so much.
Love all your videos but especially the ones where you are sharing camp days with food prep, hikes, and visits to town.
Very cool walk! Those palm trees remind me of the cabbage or sago palms in Fl. They are real fire hazards. They burn and then the top explodes and spreads the fire in all directions.
I’ll have to check out TH-cam to see an example of exploding palms.
Deb,John’s a gamer not a complainer !

For sure. We’re already back and lined up a new hike.
