When i see this actor...Wilfred Brimley ...that line from the thing pops into my head..'i dont wanna stay out here any more..i wanna come back inside. '
+drpapa26 Strangely, learning that Selleck was considered for that role is what brought me to look for this movie. I agree, he would have been excellent in that role. Ford was excellent as well, though.
A couple of things that I noticed while watching this movie: - How does Wilford Brimley get his diabeetus testings supplies 'right through the mail' if he's in the middle of rural China? - Tom Selleck's leather coat is totally boss.
It's said Stephen Spielburg picked Him to be Indiana Jones.... But CBS was on strike, and Tom couldn't cross the picket line as it's said...... The results were Harrison Ford,etc....
@@Retro-Future-LandI urge you to read the book and decide for yourself. There's quite a bit that's been changed but it's a great read. I check some of it out and it seemed very real.

This is such an underrated movie.
Greatest movie Tom Selleck ever made

If you haven't yet seen this movie, *Watch it!* ...it's the *right* thing to do
So glad to see at least part of this fab older movie. It has it all. I love Red Rum's comment - makes it even better. Thanks.
I like the movie. The reason i read the book twice. Still imagine Tom and Bess as O' mally and Eve.
I only caught the end of this movie but it was a great vibe and feel, like Raiders of the Lost Arc but more fanciful and upbeat.
Have been a Magnum (the original) from day one. This movie never fails to strike a tickle or two.
A "Classic".... Watched it many years ago.
Tom Selleck would have been a great Indiana Jones

+drpapa26 Great no, but good enough.

I can't believe I'm the only one who liked this comment.
I've always envied that coat!
Today something like that, if made in Italy with high quality leather, would cost around 2k I think...
I would totally wear that thing everywhere.
He gets his supplies via Chinese Junk Mail, of course.
LOL
That's the line I remember...
"It's blood! Bad blood! Insanity runs rampant in your family!"
"The oxen are slow, but the earth is patient". I used this quote in my Spanish class last week...
Bill Lebaron I’ve quoted that line for 35 years! 😁
I love it when O’malley plants one on Evie while faking his fall
Wonderful film
My favorite movie
This is Boljun, region of Istria, in Croatia/Hrvatska! 🇭🇷

Based on a true story. And yes, they did get married in real life.
bill bixby Unfortunately for us romantic, no. Apologies for not clarifying myself: I meant the two characters.
bill bixby lol
:-)
I'm kinda skeptical on the author's claims it was taken from an autobiography but would'n't totally rule out something less similar happened.
