- sketchbook tour of my very messy sketchbook... i tried to be really honest with this sketchbook tour and show you guys the horrible, embarrassing pages!! the drawings and pages in this are kind of ugly but i wanted to give u guys a little insight on what my art looks like outside my huge paintings!
not super pretty but i think sketchbooks are supposed to be messy, fun and colorful anyways! i hope you guys enjoy this video and consider subscribing!

An actual sketchbook tour! I love to see people doodles and lists and thumbnails, so much more inspirational and helpful then a sketchbook full of near finished work

Finally an honest sketchbook! Seriously, I use mine more as a journal and when I paint or draw in it, I feel such a pressure to not ruin the ''aesthetic'' of it, because most of the sketchbooks we see online are so pretty and cool. Though truly, this is what a sketchbook is meant to be. A place were you can be messy, experiment, brainstorm, etc. I really appreciate your video.
there is no way a sketchbook is “meant to be” what does that even mean a sketchbook is when you draw in a book and you enjoy the process of doing so? it doesn’t matter how you do it or how it ends up looking

Thank you for making this 😭 i always see sketchbooks with all these finished sketches and i feel like im not using my sketchbook right, but this video cheered me up when i saw that amazing artists have weird half finished sketchbooks too ( also i loved the camera transition holy shit )

I am very releaved now that i've seen this sketchbook tour of yours. Cause seemingly every other sketchbook tour shows artworks on every page, and i was pressuring myself a lot because of that ^^'

and im so happy theres a video out there that isnt super pretty and planned out yknow? its just raw sketchbook, which imo sketchbooks are meant for fucking around not planning out aesthetic compositions throughout all of it- which if you do that and it works for you thats fine its just seeing all sketchbook tour videos have mainly perfect and prestine, aesthetic spreads and more kinda puts pressure on me to have to go to that extent to feel happy with my sketchbook (and i dont find myself happy trying to do that)
but yknow what idc anymore, i do what i want, love this sketchbook tour

You’re obviously a mega talented realism artist, but it’s really cool to see your carefree doodles and abstract art. I don’t consider myself an artist, but I do zentangle art as a hobby and some of your sketchbook pages remind me of it. I love zentangle art because it’s just really freeing and fun and I don’t have to think too hard or take myself too seriously to do it. I feel like that’s what your sketchbook must be for you too, and that’s cool!

This is nice. Seeing everyone's rad as sketchbooks made me feel like mine were crap lol. Mine are full of low effort characters, stick people, scribbles. There's probably like two in the whole book where I'm like "this one's cool".
I never use a reference for sketchbooks so they're usually terrible lol
I love watching those really beautiful, thought out sketchbooks on youtube.
But mine never were like that. I tried to only draw nice pages in my sketchbooks but just ended up not using my sketchbooks much in fear of ruining them and just drawing on loose paper. I've been trying to get back to using my sketchbooks for the longest time, but it's super intimidating even though I'm trying to not put pressure on myself and just do whatever in them.
Thanks so much for this video, I really love your sketchbook! I've only been watching you for about 2 months so I didn't see your other sketchbook tour, but I'll look for it. I actually love all those loose sketches and ideas for paintings as when I get an idea, my initial sketches are very rough as well haha. But I really enjoyed all those colours and just fun you have in the sketchbook, it's really inspiring for me to actually start using my sketchbook more for just silly sketches or literally just scribbling like you did with some pages.

I ADORE your intro, that alone had me subscribe! Now I can't wait to see what you've done! I've said on a few that I want to have my first sketchbook tour (I'm nearly finished with one), but it's more than just opening up your book and spilling your images to the world (already a lot of it is out there anyhow, as far as my Insta and FB, but not one whole sitting). Watching all "the kids" with their tours (and of course, now you are one of them, lol), has inspired me to share more and to actually stick with it, beyond the note taking for my other work. Happy to be a new fan!(and to help with the Algo...)
i love this video, is so important to show real artists. These people who write those hate comments must be very insecure about their art. Everyone does silly and simple drawings. Not everything has to be very elaborate and realistic

My sketchbook looks like this. Pages upon pages of Crayola marker lines, doodles of rats and monkeys, actual practice on something, the most beautiful drawing I will have ever done, Anatomy???, gesture drawings, mirror self portrait, notes on improving.

i have a few sketchbooks that are just empty because i'm terrified of not making perfectly composed and finished layouts like those i see online so i just procrastinate lmao. this was really refreshing!! i'm trying really hard to adopt a draw first and refine later mindset instead of getting so overwhelmed by the idea of having to make something good and then just never making it.
just go for it and have fun!! it’s also fun to make really pretty page spreads too though so I get it :)

This is actually so relieving to see
Something I love to do with my messy sketchbooks is simply to throw it away once I've used it up. I may keep a few pages I like. But, for the most part, a lot of the stuff I put into them is purely practice and planning bigger projects. It helps me be less attached to my sketches and lets me have more freedom to make mistakes. More people should do this or at least have a messy sketchbook. Also, if you're like me and running out of storage space for your art, it's great to manage that space.
