    Great video, it’s cool how passionate you are about this! I’m wanting to go back to school for EE, but I forgot all the math I learned so I’ve been spending a bunch of time researching how to best learn math from the very beginning
    I used to think I needed to take notes on everything in the book verbatim, but my plan is to just really spend time thinking about how the math works, spend time working on practice problems, keep some paper with me to write notes on things I need to understand in my own words, and maybe write some flashcards to continually review for stuff I need to remember
    The textbooks I got focus a lot on engineering/applied math, and not so much on pure mathematics stuffs and proofs and what not though, but I think maybe I’ll try to learn that stuff later on

      That's awesome!! EE folks always blow me away. I had to take Electrical Fundamentals for my MechE program and that was challenging enough lol. Good luck and congrats friend!

      @@mikes_channel i am a highschool student and decided to take physics as my carrier however my maths is not so strong so i constantly tries to get better at it and apply at physics.
      And your videos made it a lot easier and whenever i feel lost and demotivated your videos inspires me again !
      Thanks mike once again🤌🏻 hope i will become like you someday

      @@ayushblank that's really awesome :) I had the exact same experience when I was about your age. I was 15 when I realized how amazing all this stuff was- and I sucked at math too! The most powerful thing I've ever learned is that you can learn anything with enough time.
      All the "smart kids" go away and all that's left at the top are people who work hard. Work hard, and you will look back and see that you've become exactly the person you wanted to one day.

    Thank you Mike for this video. Every time I watch a video of yours, I think about how timely it is always. Just a short while ago, I wanted to learn basic principles in numerical methods, and I found them difficult until I found another easy book. Thank you very much. You have arranged my mind, my thoughts, and my direction. I will always be thankful to you for this channel. I was truly lucky to have it. Thank you. ❤

      I'm so glad! Comments like these are so inspirational. Every single person in these comments is so strong-willed and perseverant, it's absolutely incredible to see! Come back and update me on what you end up learning man! Numerical methods is such a cool and rich field of maths and science :)

      @@mikes_channel In fact, I am a student in energy physics. In the subject of numerical methods, I always feel that there is something missing that I can understand, but I have been struggling to solve problems for a long time. As you said in this video, I should have really known my level. I found that I do not know all the basics of differential equations, and thanks to your previous video I found the best book. I really wish I knew how to convey all my gratitude to you.

    I see on thumbnails of some of your videos that say "no calculus" , but i feel like calculus is an important part of physics and especially higher physics .
    Plz recommend books that uses calculus after completing the cutnell

    Is there a community like this that meets in person

    • @mikes_channel
      @mikes_channel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wish :( Not that I know of. Most of the self-improvement circles are financebros and its hard to find people who want to learn stuff for giggles nearby. Maybe some college campus physics clubs? the energy there was always a little more motivated by academics than pure learning though IMO.
      I hope you find something man! Either way I'll still be making videos and maybe eventually this can become a digital version of that ideal community of passionate learners and makers :-)
