Christmas really brings out the kid in all of us. Growing up as an only child, I see myself in Gideon, when he jumped with joy & excitement at decorating the Christmas Tree. And yes, we have the same family tradition- decorating the Christmas Tree ourselves, with Dad & Mom, complete with Christmas songs in the background. Now that I have 2 grown kids, they help decorate not only the tree, but the whole house & I am still the giddy child.🤣Josh & Lauren- congrats on being great parents... and foster parents to your Team.🙂 So glad that Gideon & all of you are happy! When we decorate ours and I run out of pins to hang the decors, I just improvise using some thread.
In my home here, my decors will not be complete without a parol or Christmas lantern and of course must have the Belen or manger scene.

In the Philippines, everything is sold in small quantities, this is better for lesser wastage, and less amount to pay. Not like in the US where food and everything you have to buy in bulk or large quantities and end up throwing away excesses.

@@TheOttecarlos I guess you wouldn't understand, from your perspective where abundance it a norm. Take that roll of gift wrapping paper she "complained" about. When you have that small roll of giftwrapper, we make sure every inch of that is use, without throwing away anything. Same for that scotch/cello tape, we use an inch and sparingly applied....hard to explain unless you're in our place.
@@TheOttecarlos another example would be a Coke, you can buy a 195ml size compared to a 10oz/300ml in your country? In fastfoods, you can get a small sized fries or drinks. The only thing Filipinos will buy in bulk will be rice...because rice is life.😀

She’s basically explaining things for people who live abroad and are thinking why the wrapping papers looks different. Like Ottacarlos said it’s not even the quantity. Everything she was holding can be bought in one roll in the US in a longer dimension. Also, who said people in America throw away what’s left of the gift wrap? People save that for the next year. Hi, if i buy a big bottle of shampoo 🧴 here. Chances are that bottle can be recycled. If you buy saxhets of shampoos in the philippines. They all end up as trash.
