  • Ta'leef Collective presents "An Intimate Conversation" with BROTHER ALI and USAMA CANON (Ta'leef Collective Founding Director).
Usama Canon interviews Ali Newman, better known by his stage name Brother Ali, is an American hip hop artist, community activist and member of the Rhymesayers Entertainment hip hop collective.
Brother Ali converted to Islam at age 15, and became of student of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed.
Brother Ali has said many times in interviews that he finds much of his inspiration in the late 1980s rappers of the golden age of hip hop, especially KRS-One and Rakim. In the track "Get Up Stand Up" by Public Enemy, in which Brother Ali features, he says 'I was raised by the Enemy, and ever since then that's been my identity', suggesting that he also sees Public Enemy as an inspiration. The 'D' stands for 'deen.' Consider the following Muslim names: Taqiuddeen, Naasiruddeen, Shamsuddeen etc.

I have a question Brother Ali. How do you reconcile that the Ottoman Empire an Islamic Empire. Invaded the Balkans, Eastern, and Central Europe. For example my country Hungary was under occupation from 1541 to 1699. 1/3 of the population was enslaved. Boys were taken and served in the military and girls were sold off as sexual slaves concubines (MAHZIA). That is 158 years systematic oppression. All of the indignities you mentioned. Forced to forget their language, their culture, their people, was done to the Hungarians first. Yet this is never talked about. Why because it was Muslims oppressing Christians.

The enemy always learns the history of the one he wants to overtake. It makes him appear to care for the culture and it's origin; but the Truth is: the knowledge of your enemy's history gives you leverage amongst them, and makes you more inviting into their circles where you can learn their strengths and secrets. He's bogus and as evil as he looks.

      Politically incorrect
Now that doesn't make any sense at all. But in reality, your the enemy. How dear you use the image of a man who found his truth on his pilgrimage to MECCA and you refuse to recognize that truth as a non-Muslim. Allah said do not take the non-Muslim as friends they are the friends of each other. You hate the Muslim Malcolm, but want to be the weak nationalist fantasy of Malcolm. And he didn't die for that.
He died for the truth, Islam, justice and Allah. And that's the reality.

Charles Scott you clearly are dumb. I responded to the original post who made a claimed that brother ali was a enemy. I have nothing against Islam I'm no religion but I do understand religion is a label I look at character so cut it out with your dumb ass assumptions. Malcolm x was a great human being who stood for human rights not religious bigot like yourself.
