      This is what the nanny state does. It conditions people into total dependence to the point where they expect the government to do all their thinking for them. Throughout this 'pandemic' we have witnessed the logical conclusion of this, we now have grown adults asking things like, "Is it safe to hug my grandchildren?", "Is it safe to meet my neighbour for a coffee? Am I allowed?".

Everything that's happened in the last 50 years has been handed to people and our brains have become numb with to much TV, celebrities and social media, Internet porn. Rebel. Denier. Skeptic. Some 'ists. Whenever any of these kind of labels are applied, one should know immediately a few things. Firstly a fallacious argument is being applied, ad hominem. Discredit before the information is even provided. Secondly, the behavioural psychology of 'shaming.' Not just the mark, but the listener/viewer, predictively being told that any such thoughts are socially shameful, "so shut up." ..... and finally the person/position/subject the label is being directed at probably requires a more in depth look. There's likely some nuggets of truth the authorities would rather keep quiet about if they and their media lackies are applying the label.

The obscene scenes that were observed in Trafalgar Square recently were nothing short of shameful, do people not know that there is a killer disease out there, and that it just loves to jump from person to person. Lockdowns affect different people in different ways. It's no use bleating about how all our liberties are being taken away and how we fought for them during the war years, that is just sentimentalizing the situation. I would love to go out and enjoy a pint with friends down the pub, but I know if I do, I am risking not only my own life, but those lives of people around me. Johnson has spent a fortune today or will be doing on the military thinking perhaps that if it comes to a showdown they will protect him but the military usually go along with the Royals. So if it came to a conflict Johnson would be finished as the Army would link forces with the public against the current oppression of the people.

The course of action arising from the question is simply left open. The actual questions asked in the polls need to be published - not just the interpreted results.

    Pardon my ignorance but can anyone answer this question. As far as I'm aware the lockdown regulations are just that, regulations, they are not written down in law anywhere so how can they enforce them? It is my understanding that to get new laws passed takes months and has to go through several stages before being written into existence. Surely anyone who has received a fine would be better off not paying it and then contesting it in court. If everyone did that then the courts would be swamped. I have to admit to having switched off from it all as I'm sick and tired of the crap that is being fed to us and the biased media coverage. I'm also shocked by the amount of people who are believing everything they are being told and wandering around like mindless sheep.

    This MP is spot on. I too am astounded that the public just shrug it all off without asking searching questions.

      If you notice though there is still an element of the public who seem to be oblivious to asking questions .. I was told on a local newspaper thread yesterday that it was people like me who were responsible for the restrictions ... I simply pointing out inaccuracies in stats the pcr testing & the test and trace system as well as the wider impact on mental health , job losses and poverty for years to come .. these are the people who can’t see the woods for the tree’s.

    Polls are easy;
    if you don't like the results of the poll, you adjust the wording of the question until you get results you like.

      Kyle Mccann This has always been the case in this country . And nine times out of ten it's for very little reward for the majority of people , unlike M Ps and political figures and the likes of the Lords getting over £300 a day just for turning up , most people would be made up to get that much a week for working.

    I'm 69 and have just retired I'm now so sick of the relentless daily figures and graphs I'm now getting to the point where if this is the future, no going dancing, no seeing friends and family, no theatre or shows, no normal life as before. I'd rather die than spend what time I have left in this crazy world I feel so sorry for the younger generation and I can't understand why the older people aren't protesting and are happily putting up with this loss of freedom which our predeseors fought so hard for.

      That's why I stopped voting because if you vote then you've given away power and to be honest they're not worth my power.
