+WorldTravel Well I had :P I was speaking korean (native language) with my friend in the back seat, and the driver thought that he could fool us because I am a tourist and won't know much about the location. I saw him taking a lot of roundabout ways. It was really disappointing and outrageous that I didn't even pay him.
I never had this problem in Singapore but I can't think of a country that I have visited that this has not happened, Being ripped off by taxi drivers is normal, sadly. I took a taxi between airports in Turkey and I was driven all over Istanbul only to notice when I got to the domestic airport that I could have walked between the 2.
He was a very interesting man. When you tipped him it got me think about the door man who opened the door for you back at the hotel. A thousand years ago I stayed at the Queen Elizabeth hotel in Montreal, 1978 I think, the first time I ever paid a $100 for a room. What I remember most though was the door man in charge of the taxi line-up. He would raise his hand when someone wanted a taxi and the next in line would drive up to the door he opened the door for the guest and most of them were putting a $5 tip in his hand, I walked. LOL Just checked to see what inflation has done to the room cost. I could get a room there tomorrow for $219.
+Dale Calder lol, That guy would have been making some good coin. I paid $330 for a room in Toronto in 2008, Nothing special either and that was the cheapest in the area. Breakfast was $40, I ate at the little restaurant around the corner, $5 for the same thing....
+WorldTravel Series bucks and tax fee. Don't remember what I paid the last time I was in Montreal, which was back in the 90's, but it was during Jazz Festival and there wasn't a hotel in the city that would take a reservation for less than three nights so I ended up staying for a night longer than I had planned and I wasn't in the least interested in the Jazz Festival.
Singaporeans speak "Singlish". But at least foreigners can understand 97% of what we say because Singlish sounds not much different from English. If you go to countries likeThailand, vietnam, cambodia, laos, myamnar, japan, korea, mongolia etc, they will speak their own native language.😃
I found that the i40s were more comfortable than the Sonata taxicabs. I think it has to be because it has a European feel whereas the Sonata was pretty crap and basic, not to my standards.
This taxi driver talked too much to passenger. Some passengers may not like as passenger dont know you so well. The taxi driver must be careful when talking to people who he dont know well. Try not to talk about politics, races, nationalities, religions and sensitive stuffs, you may end up offending people.🤔
Finally, i’ve been looking for this video all day😂😂
lol
the world needs more taxi drivers like that
+stevencox75 Never had a bad taxi driver in Singapore, Can't say that about many other countries.
+stevencox75 We had one in Singapore last month. He was in a Toyota Wish and he was a very social guy.

@@worldtravel5044 Singapore taxis (and the drivers) are excellent compared to other countries that I've visited.
I was in Singapore a few months ago and all the cab drivers were so friendly
I can't think of an unhappy one I ever had there, very friendly drivers.
WorldTravel For sure! They always told us all the best places to visit and eat at
WorldTravel There are a few taxi drivers from different companies like transcab they like to road rage.
He had some interesting thoughts. F1 track cool.
+Southpaw Davey You well see the track in a future video, This was an interesting old man.
The Hyundai Sonata is so beautiful and gorgeous car. Beautiful as a korean girl. ❤️

Pemandu taksi ni amat bagus...inilah faktor penting ramai pelancong (wisatawan) datang ke Singapore....

Wow! First time I know a man over a thousand years old! Amazing!
he is trying to be friendly and provide customers service.
For sure, its not a job requirement but it sure makes for a better ride and larger tip.
See how much better Singaporeans are in English! Long time ago, Malaysians were much better, now it's totally opposite.
I found the people in Malaysia that speak English, speak it very well, But more people in Singapore speak English at least percentage wise.

That's a strange rule.
He is promoting his country for tourism...
