The nostalgia😭😭 as a kid I used to be completely obsessed with the show, so much so that my parents bought me the CD. I was so happy that I got the CD, one day I brought the CD to school (mind you this was when I was in kindergarten) to watch the show together with my friends. They all loved it as much as me. When my class had a field trip to Singapore (fast forward to grade 5) I suggested that we should watch Songs of the Seas after our day trip at Sentosa to end the night, luckily they agreed and I will never forget how happy I felt when I was watching one of my favorite shows with my friends. I still think it is the superior show when compared to wings of time. The mix of real actors + special effects from the show make it feel more real. Added bonus is that songs of the sea matched the culture and area of singapore by it being set on a floating fishing village above the ocean. Songs of the sea had an actual plot which was somewhat engaging at least. Wings of time on the other hand... Does anyone know what the plot is? Or is there no plot at all? Anothing thing I miss is the fire sequence. Songs of the sea's fire sequence is just so much better than wings of time. I will never forgive Sentosa for removing the show to.. whatever we have now.
As I sifted through my closet, I stumbled upon an old friend nestled among forgotten treasures-a plush Oscar toy!! Instantly, memories flooded back, memories of a show that defined my childhood. The show really captivated our young heart. I remember how my mother, on her visit to Singapore, brought home a precious CD and that Oscar plush toy. My brother and I watched the show endlessly, enthralled by its enchanting storyline and lively songs. We knew every lyric, every line by heart. In those carefree days, we made a promise to our ourselves: one day, when we were older, we would experience the wonder of the show live. It became our shared dream, woven into the fabric of our childhood fantasies. But as time passed, the show ceased, and our dream faded into nostalgia. Now, holding Oscar in my hands once more, I can't help but feel a pang of bittersweet longing for those innocent days. The joy, the laughter, the simple pleasures of youth-how vividly they come rushing back. Oh, how I miss those moments of pure childhood bliss, and how grateful I am for the magic of that show that will forever live on in my heart.❤️
I remember watching this show with my family when I was young in late November 2011 during my family's first night of the Sentosa trip. I love watching this! It's my favourite! Sadly, this show was replaced by the Wings of Time in 2014. I had a great time watching Songs of the Sea with my family. So many memories...
@@SobatThemePark swear Sentosa just keeps getting worse in their ideas of demolishing things e.g. songs of the sea, the Merlion and the imbiah area, the old monorail. Even the RWS area is under construction, yes the entire forum. Sentosa, make better choices of what to demolish and what/where to build other things
It's a shame this show has been stopped.. I am so glad I managed to watch it twice, the best ever fountain laser show in Sentosa Island!! Cant even allow myself to blink my eyes when watching. Lol
yes definitely. Shame they changed it to a show that doesn't match with its location and ended being cringed show ever created by ECA2 Group and the second-worst show at Sentosa after Lake of Dreams at Resorts World Sentosa.
@@SobatThemePark Yes, sorry to say but we have to admit that the current show is not comparable at all to Song of the Seas, eventhough the fountain show is beautiful, it's soulless and sooo f**king boring. Yves Pépin is no doubt a genius, being able to carry out things in their highest standard, from impeccable design to equally flawless execution. I will always remember Song of the Seas deep in my heart eventhough it's no longer there!
@@jBdXULriUaVTSCgwM3uAqW yep me too I'm more interested in Songs of the Sea Show than Wings of Time because Wings of Time is so cringed to watch and you noticed in the early day that Wings of Time pre-show have all cast that sing the WOT theme song right, that doesn't make sense why the singing class take place on the beach like what but glad they fix it and they left only Rachel and Felix singing and running through the beach.
I really love this show. I still remember watching this show with my family on December 2008. When I watch this show, it was very amazing show. I'm very impressed. Congrats to all 7 person cast and crew. Everything perfect.
Thank you so much for uploading this on TH-cam. This just brings back my childhood memories that I went to Sentosa with my parents. Saw the DVDs that sold after the show but my parents don't want to buy it for me ^^". Since then im so obssesed with fountain shows, even use a water hose at home to recreate the water jets while playing Songs Of The Sea music 😂
@@SobatThemePark do you think that they will change the show again? Since Songs Of The Sea has been running for 7 years and if im not wrong Wings Of Time has been there for 7 years already.
Hmm maybe even there is a rumor it will demolished for a new show because as you can seen on Sentosa-Brani Masterplan video is replaced by different show not yet confirmed until now
@@SobatThemePark oh yeah i saw that video before, looks simple but I guess they didn't design the next show yet. So sad even for a malaysian like me that they didn't kept the Merlion and the Tiger Tower.
I never got to watch this in real life but my aunt and uncle did when they went to Singapore and they bought a DVD. I’ve watched it repeatedly when i was younger 🥺 water ballet was my favorite, i love her deep voice im always stunned. I suddenly remembered this because I was cleaning my stuff and i found the dvd but i didnt have a player to play it with anymore and ughhhhh how i wish. Do they still do this in Singapore? Ive watched the entire behind the scenes, the making of the show. I am literally in love.
@@SobatThemePark i see!! What was the reason they discontinued it? It’s good to hear theyre still having a show here! Hope i can watch it on real life!
@@WINNONAHREY i don't know what was the reason behind that, but i think maybe because it's old show so Sentosa propose to ECA2 Group to change the show. But because the transformation only took place for 1 month, the new show is little bit suck when it's compared with Songs of the Sea, the fountain is beautiful but the story of the show is little bit cringe. And there is rumor this show will be discontinued soon but maybe not in near future because on the documentary the original show was intended for only for 5 years and in some Wings of Time show it has many technical problems like the fountains may not working properly and the pyrotechnics sometimes misfired and since Wings of Time show era the spectator is not as much as Songs of the Sea show.
Childhood nostalgia! I never realized how amazing the soundtrack was, never appreciated it as a child... I'm wondering if there is a standalone version of the source music out there anywhere?
If I may throw my two cents here, I think the two best fountain shows ever hosted on Sentosa were Songs of the Sea and Spirits of Sentosa from the old Musical Fountain (honorable mention goes to Journey Around the World, also from the old Fountain). Both told a grounded story with memorable characters, and the special effects (water, lights, fire etc.) complimented these elements rather than stealing the show. Admittedly, it's hard to find footage of Spirits of Sentosa on TH-cam but they're out there. I grew up with Magical Sentosa, but while it has a lot of nostalgic value, watching the show now as an adult, it was pretty much the Wings of Time of its day - more special effects than plot. I did enjoy the music however, again mainly for nostalgic reasons.
Welp Spirits of Sentosa show footage was exist although it was only the highlight of the show sadly. Also, Journey Around the World footage recently surfaced.
Sadly now the show has been changed to Wings of Time which is still pretty good in my opinion but this just brings back old memories and it’s was just classic!
