The thing is, Sandler knows his audience, he knows his films aren't oscar contenders, but he still makes films that he knows are gonna please his fan base, I've loved his films since the first time I saw him beat the shit out of a crocodile and have a fight with Bob Barker. Big Daddy is still one of my all time favourites!

Very well put. I believe his acting range is far wider than he even utilizes most the time. But as you said.. that's his formula. I have his 4 CDs too.. and most the stuff on those where pretty good as well. He's definitely put out some "eh" films here and there.. but people can't ignore the classics like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and Big Daddy.. to name a few.

Bill Burr made a good point about Adam Sandler. He knows his movies are silly but they make kids laugh. They are well directed and have a nice budget so they are at least easy on the eyes. Kids love his silly movies. Adam is perfectly capable of making more adult movies but he's stuck to his guns all these years. He doesn't seem like he's a total Hollywood elitist who looks down on everyone.

No, he always made (technically) bad movies but at least they used to be really funny (Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, Little Nicky). But he mostly made unfunny, absolute garbage in the last ten years. Jack and Jill is one of the most offensively awful movies ever made, he deserves all the crap he gets.

I love Adam Sandler. People tell me it's just shit humour but I just like it. He has done some films that weren't brilliant but I haven't disliked any. Another thing people don't seem to recognise is that Sandler keeps his friends close and always gets them into the movies whether it be big roles or small.

This is very true. Rob Schneider is one of his best friends and he's always in Adam's movies. Also I love Zohan (probably because of my country's dub version, but still), Happy Gilmore, Click, 50 First Dates, even Little Nicky is kinda fun in my country's dub version, but I think the original is a mess.

Zach Pryor 90's, not 80's. Looking back, the 90's were the new 70's. Though I wasn't born in the 70's, it's like everything was awesome during that time. Then the 80's came (which had it's own....thing). But in the 90's, everything was cool again, movies, music, video games everything.

I do think he's a really humble guy and this is how he prefers to dress, but believe me, if his manager felt it was hurting him at all, he'd be in a suit. I guarantee it. He's remembered for his silly movies, but in fact has been making a lot of very adult, very serious movies for quite a while now. Take a look at The Cobbler, or The Week Of, or Punch Drunk Love.

Sandler is awesome. Billy Madison still has a lot of nostalgia for me but Happy Gilmore is ridiculously funny to this day. Big Daddy is great. The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates are excellent examples of a male led rom com. (Think about a Rom Com vs a Sandler comedy. The only difference is the sex of the lead. We meet a character in a relationship, they get dumped, meet someone new who they can't have, hijinks ensure, they get new love interest or almost do, lose them, grow and develop as a character, redeem themselves and get their new love interest, happily ever after...unless there is a sequel) And You Don't Mess With the Zohan may be the most underrated Sandler movie out there. And Hotel Transylvania? Pure gold.
