I appreciate this track the more years go by, it has all the goodie ingredients: Strings, pianos, vocal hooks, bubbly basslines, straight beats and most importantly: breakbeats 🤗
I took my daughter to a K Pop concert of her favourite boy band - BTS - last year. She said to me I bet you wished you had music like this when you were young eh dad? I said what do you mean, my generation invented this shit.
@@standardtuning4guitars423 I never said they could dance, just said dancers.....besides, you wouldn't want a dance off with me hun, I won the dancing competition at Butlins during my teens. 😏
Driving home from work yesterday a Radio 2 has “Serious Jokin” on. What came on, Urban Hype with Trip to Trumpton........................ For 3 and a 1/2 minutes I was young, single and care free again 😎
for a country thats not well known for too many things, have to say some of the rave music coming out of belgium at the time was top of the pops (no pun intended)
This week I did an interview with Danny van Wauwe, one of the producers of this classic. I did ask him about the story behind "Night In Motion" and more! Enjoy!
That's an interesting comment. From todays perspective, this, on the face of it, seems like good wholesome entertainment compared to what is fed to the young today, but in 1991, when this was broadcast, this, and all the other rave acts that appeared on TOTP, were considered very controversial because of the illegal rave/drug scene at the time.
SuperGamer8090 I can't tell if your tone was ironic, but if you really do think it was good clean fun, a performance on TOTP wasn't the realty of the rave scene. Any rave at this time in UK was absolutely full of drugs. You'd still see the big crossover tunes like this played on Saturday morning kid's TV though.
So that's where the sample right at the beginning came from...... You Sure Do, make me feel like loving you...... I think it was by Strike, cool 90s tune =))
So much rave tunes even on TOTP back in 91/92.... Bizarre Inc, Oceanic, SL2, Praga Khan!
Get right on one matey :-)
Cola Boy, Shamen, Rozalla, 2 Unlimited, Incognito........

Belgium is known for Van Damme.
aprc1977a Belgium lol
Belgian Lives Matter.
Belgium don't ever get the credit they deserve for the dance music that was originated there in the early scene.
