Korg wavestate | Vela | Dark Space Ambient Session

Forging into new territory today. Instead of a choral layer, I chose to do two layers with different synth sounds, and then introduced a degree of random pitch shift per layer plus a healthy bit of unison on the bass to try to introduce some simulated analog warmth.
Minus dialing in the pulse frequency, Layer D took hours to get right, and keeping everything sonorous when all layers were running together was a massive challenge.

I‘m really happy you appreciated that layer because the entire patch was pretty much hinging on that layer working.
That was my attempt to build the Vela Pulsar on my wavestate, and I think it went quite well 🙂

The chattery texture was a surprise, I'm curious how that was built in the wavestate. Unfortunately the high pitched drone in the middle was too much for my tinnitus 😔

As for the "chatter", that was one of the noise samples with a square LFO affecting the amplitude at 100% and at an oscillation rate precisely matching the Vela Pulsar's rotation speed.
Once you have that, mod to your heart's content and make it weird 😊

awesome......however I must say: the effect of hearing your uploads in a dark moodier environment is to me, way more immersive and appropriate.......sounds great though - I just had to mention it...............

As for the change in environment, I‘d love to still be down where I had been doing these, but the air has gotten increasingly damp and musty on that level and it‘s been making it difficult to breathe.
I‘ve been enjoying making new sounds surrounded by my little collection of houseplants though 😃
