Port of Halifax - Planning for the Future

The Ultra-Class Container Vessels calling on the Port of Halifax combined with the smaller, specialized cargo vessels means tremendous potential for economic growth and development. Work is moving ahead on the South End Container Terminal extension to ensure Halifax remains a big ship port, one that can efficiently and effectively handle vessels of any size.
With partners, planning is underway to find a solution that will take the majority of port-related trucks out of the downtown core of Halifax.
