We recently connected with Memphis natives Criminal Manne, DJ Squeeky & Yung Kee for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our sit down Crim talked about his new movie ‘MemphGanistan’, the movie reflecting life in Memphis right now, getting Jamal “Gravy” Woolard in the movie, filming the movie in 10 days, expanding from hood movies, lessons learned from his first film ‘Da Neighborhood Dopemane’, his second film ‘Played’, self funding his own movies, DJ Squeeky & Yung Kee’s role in the movie, Crim having a real passion for making movies, other movies he has a role in, plans to take his moves into theaters nationwide, Kee talks about his new music, Squeeky talks about getting his start as a DJ before beginning to make beats, hustling his mixtapes before the digital era, explains how he connected with Crim, developing his own sound, creating the classic song “Looking For Da Chewin”, the song still being sampled & remade today, making “Lock em in the Trunk” with DJ Zirk, how he felt when Three 6 mafia sampled the song, never working with them, reveals how he first connected with Young Dolph, working closely with him, producing “A+”, “I Need My Medicine”, “100 Shots”, Dolph’s work ethic, reveals his favorite song he produced for Dolph, his favorite memories of Dolph, explains how “Welcome Back” by Jeezy was created, working closely with Pastor Troy, remaining relevant for over 30 years in the rap game, Crim’s new album ‘Type Shit’, upcoming project, and much more!
