What a wonderful adventure your guys are having! I’m inspired and envious in equal measure! I visited Auschwitz in Poland and it was moving and the place stayed with me long afterwards. I must visit Normandy. What a sacrifice those men gave. Shame what we’ve let our country become. Looking forward to part 2.

Thanks for sharing your Normandy excursion. There's so much first and second world war history to explore as well as the countryside and food. Population is much lower than most parts of the UK, so the roads seem quieter, I've never had any difficulty driving on the right, but adjusting back to driving on the left at home in the UK always takes some extra concentration, which is a bit odd!

I love riding on the 'wrong side'.. but the tricky bits can be around such things as the weird right of way rules esp in France. The UK could learn a few things about variable speed limits, pedestrian crossings and town limit markers as well as a few other things.

  • @oscartravis5740

Cracking adventure, and what a beautiful chateau! I've driven in France, that was terrifying until I got the hang of it. It's like recalibrating your brain hemispheres having to do gear changes with your other hand and going the opposite way on roundabouts and stuff. At least a bike is the same seating position and functions whichever side of the road you're riding on. Can't wait to see more. Curious also as to what bikes everyone was riding ☺

I agree, driving on the wrong side sounds a little worrisome. Altho, I think the right side is the right side, not the wrong side. This concern may have kept me out of your neck of the woods for too long. I had several family members on the beach on D-Day. That part of the world has been on my one-day list for a long time. The World is a small place, in reality, I was born in the middle of WWII, and even as a child was affected by it. with uncles, friends. family members in the military. I knew neighbors who fought at Normandy. And am ex Army vet myself . I remember going to Germany when the Wall went up in 1960. and as we all sat on board the troop ship we all thought it was going to be WWIII. But to our favor it was not. spent two years in Germany and got to visit France and many other country's while I was there. and the one take away? people all over the world are just people. same in each land. same likes beliefs, wants needs. just being human beings on this big round neighborhood. Thanks for the reminders. God speed. de Ellis WA1RKS
