Newcastle won promotion from division 1 this season as champions. They also were league leaders for the whole of the season from the 6th game onwards. Despite this Pompey achieved a fantastic win. Pompey finished 3rd in the league but lost out in the play offs. RIP Pavel Srnicek.

I was at this game we had GMTV on our coach after the game and we told them to bleep off let us sleep. We got back to Newcastle at 06.30 am I was at work at 09.00

I was a regular in the Fratton End in the early to mid 90s. Funny to think how many transfers between the two clubs back then.
