If you play mk11 story mode,or at least raiden and sub zero,these references make alot of sense. The mention of Armageddon,the multiple timelimes,even the part when they talk about the future is basically a setup for mk11. It feels odd but interesting how they connect mkx and mk11 to injustice2 abit.
I mean Injustice 2 and MK 11 are similar in many ways since they had dialogs with each other. Even though mk vs DC is not canon but it is due to MK 11 and Injustice 2 now.
