What is Mūrti?

  • A mūrti is a “vessel” that contains a manifestation, incarnation, and personification of a god. Though the word mūrti is often used to describe an image or statue of the divine, a mūrti is not an idol. It is a way to commune with the Divine that would otherwise be beyond the senses. Mūrti is the means to relate to the unrelatable.

Interesting, but would that mean that 'you create your own god' ? Literally? As first you create its body (statue) and then its you who have to chant life (sound wave?) inside that body (statue). Also how is explained the fact that there might be thousands of statues, each of them with enchanted life (sound wave?), would that make each of god omnipresent, if yes, why would you need statue for it if its omnipresent? If not, would that make two separate gods/entities, one for each observer/chanter/creator? A bit confusing when I approach it logically. Maybe I just misunderstood the concept. Thanks!

You approached the concept quite well, more than most actually. You do create your own God. For instance, I give you my entrance into epiphany. I attached to Hinduism as a guiding faith beginning of this year. It has been the single most powerful thing in my life thus far. One thing I realized: We are Gods if we believe we are Gods. Through my beliefs, I have discovered the beauty of realization in that belief is power. If you wholeheartedly believe something, you give it the power to influence you. I gave power to the belief that I have a deep connection to Agni and Shiva. When researching my Sidereal Chart, I discovered that I was ruled by Shiva in main components, and born directly under the Krittika nakshatra, ruled by Agni. Upon finding out that Agni was the God of Fire and learning about his story, I realized something of an extremely deep nature: I had embodied the qualities of Agni since a young age. Fiery disposition, and with a tongue like no other, oftentimes people would dote on my wit and cleverosity. I tended to accept this praise and felt welcomed in its presence, however other parts of this world allowed me to doubt myself rather than accept the praise given to me. Eventually, I got to the place I am now: I live my life as one led by Agni and Shiva; I lead a path of fire and creation, wandering through life with keen abilities and a steady head on my shoulders. I bestow these gifts upon myself and others, and I come together with my Gods and rejoice in amity for what I bring to Mother Earth. I am grounded in my virtues. You could say I'm 'Rock Steady' {No Doubt Reference].

It is not God who is consecrated in Murti, it is a very small part of Brahmand/ultimate consciousness, which God has sent for the spiritual upliftment of the people through hus medium, the deity consecrated in the Murti is untainted, pure and a part of the Brahmand/UC/God. But not every Murti are powerful like this consecrated one, because the process of consecration can be done only by Guru and Rishis, these type of Murti are placed in Some Mandirs not all, also people keep normal statues but similar looking to the Murti so that they can do their daily prayer in their Homes.

It is still an IDOL …. Just define the difference between the idol & the murti? 😒😒 misguidance and misleading…
Only God alone is worthy of worship not these false deities and images astagfirullah
