I have the perhaps uncommon opinion of liking the muscle fatigue. It's a small detail that allows further immersion and measurement for progress as you get your character in shape and improve your skills. It's also a good point for people who want an additional challenge, who want to limit themselves, and who just want another mechanic to play around with. Plus if you don't like it, you can just turn it down or off completely. I will admit that the keys adding weight and the fatigue do show a slightly concerning trend towards things becoming a little /too/ realistic, but I think there's plenty of room for them to adjust stuff so it's still balanced. I really look forward to your videos on a lot of the new mechanics, including animals, blacksmithing, and especially the guns. Love and appreciate all the B42 content you've got already, and can't wait to see more!
I will say that for exercise - I did 10mins of situps daily while watching the 6pm show. It would cause slight pain. I'd then eat a protein and go to sleep, and would wake up with no muscle strain
1:36:30 I think it should be the opposite, where the bottle can only hold 10 liters and when placed in the dispenser, another 5 liters would be added (The dispenser has its own container). I think they must have gotten confused when putting in the liquid transfer or some bug.

Great charity by the looks of it! I actually need to use "Joytokey" to use the joystick of my controller instead of "WASD" to play Zomboid. I only have my right hand, so I use a mouse with a few extra buttons and a joystick. For most FPS or RPG purposes I can use "WASD" with my stump fine, but Isometric movement is a bitch with just one "finger" 😅
They do some awesome stuff. I've worked with them before and would love to visit their HQ and see the magic someday, which they've invited me to do. I'm learning a whole lot about accessibility for gaming and why it's so important :)
The new crafting/building is great 😊 i love the new style and how its set up it just launched so having a purpose to build each thing isnt necessary obvious right yet but if you had all the answers then there wouldnt be anything to figure out😅 🤦♂️💙 I'm glad they fixed pain meds to not allow us to skip by mechanics like muscle strain, thats how they would work irl thry would only work temporarily and you would feel pain afterwards, Exercise is more true now and it makes sense if you want to up your strength faster than there should be a massive downside to making the choice to exercise that much and idk because its still early but it seems that the type of food we eat is making a difference with exercise and muscle strain, but that could be because I reduced muscle strain just slightly and it seemed to make it much better and in my opinion more realistic, but i understand why its a thing to slow down the beginning gameplay and make the start a bit more thought out and planned rather than just taking on a whole town, it forces us to fight differently and it makes sense to me, you would have muscle strain/massive fatique at the start of an apocalypse, but i understand its the very beginning of B.42 so i am taking everything with a grain of salt and understanding that what we play now will be very different in the future 💙💙💙 all in ann they are doing a great job😊 and for anyone who doesnt like these features then just turn them off😂 its just that simple😂 they put these options in for those of us who like the idea thst you are actually forced to think about your next move instead of like every other zombie game out there where magically your character can just take out unlimited zeds with no downside 😅
We can sniff glue but not sniff milk?! I really hope they add the ability to determine if milk is bad by just smelling it, maybe other foodstuffs as well.
I farm chickens and three hens produce a lot of eggs. There are eggs everywhere.... And I still find it hilarious when i wake up and go to eat breakfast, and there are chickens in my fridge. I hope they patch it later though as eggs probanly shouldnt hatch in the fridge....
I've never played prior to build 42 and I'm fine with the muscle strain. I've seen it on like two runs so far at all. But again I never spent 200 hours with the game to become a zombie horde murdering machine to begin with, so I have no expectations of that working or reliance on the strategies that end up giving you fatigue
I am all for muscle strain being in the game. I am also really big on it being an optional feature, just like everything else in this game. Just like Valheim. If you want your games to be painful I think you should have that option. Truthfully, I think devs for all games should include difficulty modifiers intended to be literally impossible to conquer. But that's me.
JUST so everyone stops freaking out over spear fishing. They haven't taken it out. If you look at the animations while in debug spearfishing is still very much a thing. In the start screen for b42 they even state that some features have been disabled for the time being.
Watching through these now so haven't seen them all but here is something I've noticed. Playing mostly vanilla, not using any mods that make these tips unusable. TIP 1: Be sure to check the contents of garbage bags in trashcans and dumpsters, I've found a lot of useful things in them now, like whiskey, fresh foods and even usable equipment. TIP 2: When I find key for a building, I leave it on the dining room table, or any other prominent surface, then I put a blue Key icon on that building on the map. that way I don't have a bunch of keys I don't need, and yes you can hover over a key anywhere in your equipment and the doors its linked to will highlight. TIP 3: Vehicles - I use color coded Icons on the map, Blue means it has, or is in good condition, red means its missing, or is in bad condition. I Use the Steering Wheel icon with the center hole right where the vehicle is, Blue means its good condition, Red its bad, then I use they Key, and Gas can icons, blue if it has them, red if it doesn't. I leave the keys in the ignition so they don't clutter up my keyring. TIP 4: I store everything in bags or sheet slings, then put them in vehicles, that way when I need to drop loot, or take loot I only need to interact with a single object. I also tend to keep all my food in their own bags, so I can find it quickly, same with medical, and weapons, everything else goes into mixed bags until I get to my base.
"Only 20 minutes" of push-ups? ONLY 20 minutes! If you do one push-up every 5 seconds (which is pretty slow), that is 12 push-ups/minute. That means your character did 240 push-ups. There are professional athletes who would have trouble doing 240 push-ups non-stop. If it were only 20 push-ups that would be one thing, but 20 minutes of push-ups is kinda crazy...
The exercise mechanic really is a realism thing It doesn't pay off quickly if you overdo it, and short term (like during a zombie apocalypse) it is NOT going to pay off.
I always imagined it was more implying "do as many push ups as you're able over the next twenty minutes" type thing. the animation is continuous but i like to think my character is resting between reps, even if it's not illustrated
Realisticly if you would just open the gate for them. Cattle and pigs would survive in the wilds. Some types of chickens would survive to. Many pig saws would naturally mate with the boars and their offspring would be able to survive the winter too. Catle would start to migrate south naturally to avoid the cold. If humanity will fall catle and pigs will roam the earth.

Enjoyed watching this video. I only got into Project Zomboid a few days ago, but all I have is a Mac and a Steamdeck and it seems like it's not intended to be played with a controller ? I felt like (in my ignorance) I was missing like 90% of the game somehow. After a lot of video watching and experimentation I realize now that having a normal Mouse to click around on things in-game (which I can't really do w/ a controller).. is pretty essential. I wish somehow the game had told me that more clearly up front.
The capacity for the new animal trailers is mostly for having actual animals in the trailer. Basegame they don't let you stuff things into it. I am sure there will be mods that address that
Found a Whetstone last night in a shed that I wanted to take so I could sharpen my blades. But wouldn't let me pick it up either :/ I'm sure a mod will fix this until we get an answer from the devs about it.
Animals do have genetics so really you need to separate her from the other females with the male, you'll get babies that inherit her genetics. Breed one of the males you get from that with one of the other females, and basically look at how they avoid inbreeding irl because it's modelled in the game too. Mendelian genetics, baby.
I find as a sort of new player, the amount of crafting, farming carving etc etc really makes it hard for me to even know what’s going on. I struggled during 41 let alone now. I don’t even know where to start with all these options, the crafting list is immensely overwhelming and tbh some systems don’t look useful or that necessary (funnels and pipes for eg). I can’t even touch 90% of the features they’ve added as I don’t even know where to begin. Plus even with xp bonus I’m getting like 3xp for carving a stake guess I gotta carve 80 more before I reach lvl 1?? And then they make it so you can’t dissemble stuff making certain skills almost impossible to get a start on? I just don’t get it. It seems very unfriendly to new players. Makes me confused as all the other things they’ve added have been absolutely stellar like basements, but then they make basic survival/crafting mechanics the most pain in the arse thing somehow, each action requiring a specific tool or multiple and a multi step process to lvl and unlock the recipe etc etc.
@@RFC3514 such a shit excuse. 3:02:27 calling people stupid is not good idea just because they don't like a game update and i agree with all players and content creators that saying this feature is bad no one gets musle strain from walking and swinging wooden bat around i will call you stupid for supporting devs bs.
@@mratomicduckvods its not a optional first of all its only available to turn off in sandbox game. most player prefer to play base default game mode because of predefined settings. this is unstable version it will be changed either way in stable version because of negative reviews this feature getting. no need for you to call majority of players stupid or dumb who giving negative reviews just like new moodles.
I guarantee you can get muscle strain from swinging a bat or anything around. The assumption is you don't do that as part of your normal daily life, so your muscles aren't used to it. Apparently muscle strain goes down as skill goes up -- representing you getting used to it and those muscles getting stronger. Similarly if you start with a higher skill, you already have the strength and practice.
for anyone who's having problem with musle strain mechanism i suggest to add "sandbox options" b42 mod and in character settings put 0.3 in musle strain column 0.3 seems to work right for now until devs put strength and fitness level to effect muscle strain rather than weapon type because having same effect from a knife and sledge hammer doesn't make sense.

Salt blocks are good for livestock.
I know this vid is now a few days old but in order to get your turkeys or chicken to lay eggs, the egg laying boxes need to be open I think.
This game is SO good
The new crafting/building is great 😊 i love the new style and how its set up it just launched so having a purpose to build each thing isnt necessary obvious right yet but if you had all the answers then there wouldnt be anything to figure out😅 🤦♂️💙 I'm glad they fixed pain meds to not allow us to skip by mechanics like muscle strain, thats how they would work irl thry would only work temporarily and you would feel pain afterwards, Exercise is more true now and it makes sense if you want to up your strength faster than there should be a massive downside to making the choice to exercise that much and idk because its still early but it seems that the type of food we eat is making a difference with exercise and muscle strain, but that could be because I reduced muscle strain just slightly and it seemed to make it much better and in my opinion more realistic, but i understand why its a thing to slow down the beginning gameplay and make the start a bit more thought out and planned rather than just taking on a whole town, it forces us to fight differently and it makes sense to me, you would have muscle strain/massive fatique at the start of an apocalypse, but i understand its the very beginning of B.42 so i am taking everything with a grain of salt and understanding that what we play now will be very different in the future 💙💙💙 all in ann they are doing a great job😊 and for anyone who doesnt like these features then just turn them off😂 its just that simple😂 they put these options in for those of us who like the idea thst you are actually forced to think about your next move instead of like every other zombie game out there where magically your character can just take out unlimited zeds with no downside 😅
Shouldve named it Gobble House. LOL
😂
I think because water is already in the dispenser it showing those values could be wrong they always have some water in them in reality
Haha, yeah but it's the 2nd to lowest option in PZ. It really do be high realism
I always imagined it was more implying "do as many push ups as you're able over the next twenty minutes" type thing. the animation is continuous but i like to think my character is resting between reps, even if it's not illustrated
i'm waiting for MP for most thing like kidnapping animals XD
Realisticly if you would just open the gate for them. Cattle and pigs would survive in the wilds. Some types of chickens would survive to. Many pig saws would naturally mate with the boars and their offspring would be able to survive the winter too. Catle would start to migrate south naturally to avoid the cold. If humanity will fall catle and pigs will roam the earth.
1:37 highlight and move, and 2:39 splitting and moving how do you do that?
In the first one, he clicked and dragged from below to select multiple items. In the second one, he used Ctrl. You can also use Shift to select multiple items in a row.
@maggiestruggler Omgosh THANK YOU SO MUCH caps intended. You ROCK internet stranger. Thank you for helping me
@@kountree38 No problem! It was a game-changer for me, so I'm happy to pass it on!
well the 5 gallon water dispenser should hold about 18L
Has anyone been up to the old fort by Louiseville to see if something happened there with b42?
Enjoyed watching this video. I only got into Project Zomboid a few days ago, but all I have is a Mac and a Steamdeck and it seems like it's not intended to be played with a controller ? I felt like (in my ignorance) I was missing like 90% of the game somehow. After a lot of video watching and experimentation I realize now that having a normal Mouse to click around on things in-game (which I can't really do w/ a controller).. is pretty essential. I wish somehow the game had told me that more clearly up front.
@jasonnugent963 I've been able to get the game to run fairly well on my steam deck by tinkering around with some community controller layouts
You may also be able to stream the game via steamlink from your steamdeck onto your Mac so you could play with mouse and keyboard
I noticed in the sandbox settings there is an option to turn on predators i.e foxes that eat your chickens in the night if they are not secure. 😅
They come in from the upside-down. Indiana is just over the Ohio, after all.
Helll yeah got here early today xD
Why is that trailer so big but its capacity is so small?
The capacity for the new animal trailers is mostly for having actual animals in the trailer. Basegame they don't let you stuff things into it. I am sure there will be mods that address that
Yeah, not for storage, basically. Meant for animal transport. I managed to fit my whole flock of turkeys in there!
do u think the combat is harder in build 42?
Found a Whetstone last night in a shed that I wanted to take so I could sharpen my blades. But wouldn't let me pick it up either :/ I'm sure a mod will fix this until we get an answer from the devs about it.
Pidgeon hater! 😆
IT WAS AN ACCIDENT 😭
Your voice slightly, but only slightly reminds me of ItsJabo. Maybe because both of you have the same accent. Both of you are from the UK.
EH HEH MOODLES
Animals do have genetics so really you need to separate her from the other females with the male, you'll get babies that inherit her genetics. Breed one of the males you get from that with one of the other females, and basically look at how they avoid inbreeding irl because it's modelled in the game too. Mendelian genetics, baby.
Project Pigeonboid
I’ve always felt this game is overly punishing on exercising the time the pain lasts for seems very much overkill
Agree - some additional optional tutorials/walkthroughs of some basic crafting/etc options would be extremely beneficial to the game
@@RFC3514 such a shit excuse. In real life I can open a wine bottle without a corkscrew, I can light a ciggy off a stove use a knife for most things and it doesn’t take 3 rolls of duct tape to attach a knife to a stick. Irl the stores would be so stocked with food you’d never run out. Why does it take a minute and a half to open a soda can? I get it’s a sim but it’s also a game.
‘Sry bro you crafted the fish gutting knife when you should have crafted the chess piece whittling one sucks to be you.’
@ yeah that’s mostly what I’m asking for. For me much of the content il simply never touch as I cannot be bothered to spend days on one character reading watching tv and min maxing stats and building 100s of walls. I work I don’t have all that time to put in this game.
@ … wut. I mean you can open a corked bottle with a knife or many other things.
3:02:27 calling people stupid is not good idea just because they don't like a game update and i agree with all players and content creators that saying this feature is bad no one gets musle strain from walking and swinging wooden bat around i will call you stupid for supporting devs bs.
An optional feature that they can turn off whenever they want? Yeah no, I'm the stupid one 😂
@@rcrawford42 humans only get muscle strain when they suddenly use more force than their normal daily routine like picking up 20-30kg weight.
for anyone who's having problem with musle strain mechanism i suggest to add "sandbox options" b42 mod and in character settings put 0.3 in musle strain column 0.3 seems to work right for now until devs put strength and fitness level to effect muscle strain rather than weapon type because having same effect from a knife and sledge hammer doesn't make sense.
"we will be checking out a new map area today." Bro you spawned in a new map area already. Making it sound like you haven't been exploring the last couple vods lmfao
It makes zero sense why anyone would like or play this game. What a pain.
Then don't play it 😂 Why you watching videos about it if you don't like it?
