When you get to 4-5 weapon skill and 4-5 strength fitness the muscle strain is almost nonexistent after the patch. think they wanted noob characters not to be able to kill 50 zombies even if you had the game mechanics down. But there is sandbox setting for them if you don’t agree
Exactly. All the noobs complained and devs folded, overnerfed this mechanic, it is basically non existent now. You can lvl up weapon skill to 3-4 after 1 hour of playing and muscle strain might as well not exist anymore for your character.
BTW the cheese you picked up was IN that parcel you didn't think you can 'open'. They count as inventories and it was one of the containers in your lootable inventory bar
So I guess it is time for me to list out some of tips and tricks that i've learned myself (not rumors) in B42: 1. Everyone knows that a houses with barricaded windows are survivor's houses but there is abbandoned houses now eswell. They are also have barricaded windows but the loot in those is regular - some instruments (if you're lucky) and junk items. You can distiguish those houses from survivor's houses by graffiti paintings all over the walls of abbandoned ones. 2. Picking a fight with a large group of zombies is deadly. Best strat is to lure out 2-3 zombies at a time, try to push them once in a while and when zombie is down - stomp them to not build up your muscle strain. As i noticed while playing, it takes a but longer to build up muscle strain on legs the it is on hands. 3. House alarms are now not as dangerous like they were in B41. It is because zombies are now have random hearing radius, random walking speed and random memory duration. So in this build you pretty much can just walk away if alarm is triggered, it takes way to long for zombies to overwhelm the house (unless you're in high populated town like Louisville or West Point). 4. This one is my favorite. If you spotted a ven (does'nt matter if it's a big Box looking regural one) with closed doors do not rush to smash the window. Che the trunk instead. If the trunk is opened then you can enter the ven with car wheel menu or by pressin "Z" (by deffolt) and choosing any seat in a pop-up menu. 5. Climbing a tall fences buids up your muscle strain greatly so be careful with that while. It take 2-3 climbs to build it up to major muscle strain. 6. Tired carrying around heavy bottles with watter? Visit your local tourist shop, there is a big chance you'll find there a leather watter bag which can be equiped and is not replacing your backpack. Also you can attach some cantines to your belt if you don't mind -1 weapon slot in your hotbar. 7. This is not a tip or trick and i was hesitant if i should add this to a list but you can in fact multihit with Shotgun. You need to be far enough from zombies, they need to be close enough to each other and you need to aim right between them. Yes it is still not the same multihit as it was in B41 and yes i only managed to hit two zombies at a time, but it is a multihit non the less. I am sorry for my bad english, it is not my first language. Also i will update this list if i will remember some more tips because i did forgot some while was writting :D Upd.: 8. Meat cleaver and hand scythe are now count as axe category of weapon so Axe-pert perk from Lumberjack occupation works for them. 9. I don't know how much of a new sodas features was intended but it is not fixed yet. Soda and other beverages are still getting rid of tirednes, hunger and unhappines so i have one great tip for you - you can take the bottle from office cooler and dump all the beverages in it. Then install it back and just refill your bottle of happines evry once in a while. I am using a juice carton that can contain 200 mL and i just drink 1/4 of this holy watter every time my character wants to sleep LMAO.
ALSO. Idk if you know this yet, and I don't mean to spoil things for you, but after water shut off the only way to wash your clothing will be with a river or natural water source object. They have Plumbing for appliances using Rain Collectors off rn.
One problem with the crafting interface is that it's so bloated with regular actions. Does it really need to have a post for "Unpack 6 candles"? The fact that making Mac and Cheese is a hassle to figure out speaks poorly of the system as well. Crafting (and leveling crafting skills) in PZ needs a complete overhaul. Like, today I wanted to make a campfire, but where are the stones? Found zero stones even though I foraged for quite a while. Making a campfire should be the easiest thing in a survival game, but it isn't.
You can pick up the small stones that are on grass and physically you can see on the terrain, also branches and stuff. Right now it is pretty easy to find those basic items. But as you said crafting menu is kind of not perfect. Which i assume they dont want to pollute the right click menu and those crafting need some essential parameters like light source or table. Even cutting bread to slices you need to do it in crafting menu which needs a table also.
I find the new effects of Soda Pop absolutely hilarious. If you ration out a two liter of seemingly any soda properly you can go for at least a week without sleeping or even eating all while being perfectly happy the entire time. Since I discovered this feature??? My character literally has not slept at all for right around 2 in game weeks. It is hilarious that I get all this energy from simply drinking 50 mL of soda a few times throughout each day.
As far as i know they patched it already. You can see in this video that duck is playing on game version 42.0.0, which i assume this vod was on day 2 or 3 after the release. In the current version they reduced the muscle strain by 60% also
2:06:11 I think that batteries charge while driving now. I noticed the charge going up while I played earlier. As you can see on the timestamp, the battery you removed were at 100%
54:12 - To get the "comfort" tooltip to mention the pillow, you need to click on the exact tile that has the pillow. If you click on the rest of the bed, it won't mention the pillow (no idea if it still applies a bonus to comfort, or even if a pillow actually matters when you use a big bed).
1:01:00 making macaroni strangely requires a saucepan without water. I've made it, and the saucepan with water would not craft. I had to set it down, and then it did, but it either didn't consume the saucepan (duplicated) or used the water with a second saucepan in cabinets.
@@mratomicduckvods I was hoping that was it! That's the real reason people don't eat Turkey eggs. They lay them in spring, and few enough that the farmer is looking to maximize how many get fertilized and grow into new Christmas Turkeys.
My strategy for keys is to just place them in the kitchen counter under the sink and mark the house on the map with a pre-set symbol. Only thing I used residential keys for is when I need door knobs that I can lock with a key.
Rosebud is south on the highway that you went north on to go to Mad Dan's Den. I have heard there is a book store somewhere in town from another streamer
You know what picking a farm as base is the best you can do in build 42 because it is much more safe. If you need supplies then you can go on a scavenge mission in one of the cities. At least this is my plan (when it goes stable).
If they implement things like a cudgel without nerfed damage, you need muscle fatigue to balance it. Sure, one hit probably kills. But go ahead and try to do five swings...
@mratomicduckvods I feel like the acceleration and steering is bit too sensitive and sudden now. Especially beyond 30. May be give it a check. Much appreciated 👍🏼
I just got 20,000 ml of milk from my sheep and turned it into 40 sticks of butter.... that's a lot of non-perishable calories being produced in a single day. I'd milk her some more if I had the containers. I spawned right next to them too so I didn't have to do any work for it either 🤔
Crates no longer have a chance to break on pick up. Its so big early game storage wise. Mad den has alot of storage container but the new loot system cribels them. Love basing in a fenced in house uo the road as i clear thebgated comunity
@mratomicduckvods I hope it's not a big it's so nice. So is being able to craft the equivalent of a wood ax with the large stone ax at level three knapping.
Statement: It's very annoying, but to do a lot of tasks such as cleaning bandages & cooking, you have to have water ON you in another container like a water bottle or cook pot or canteen. Even if you're standing in front of a sink the recipes aren't working unless it's in your *actual inventory* which means you'll need to refill whatever containers you are using. So in that sense for putting pasta in a cooking pot, you'd need another cook pot full of water or the equivalent 1500mL in other sources of water contained on your person to make the recipe work. I hope that gets fixed swiftly because it is extremely annoying as well as it is not at all the way it should be operating. It should also be noted that there are a lot of things INSIDE the plastic bags & garbage bags, which is also cumbersome as well as it encourages pulling them out of the containers then most likely leaving them on the ground. Often there are good things to be found though, including tools & weapons as well as food. I found a car which had only plastic bags in the trunk, I was about to just move on then decided to dump them on the ground...someone had bought a lot of groceries, so there was a nice bit of food inside the plastic bags. On a side note, the blue generators have 10 less weight than all the other types of generators. I'm not certain if the Old Generator makes more noise than the standard orange one we've always used or if the yellowish one is the same or better or worse. That blue one is definitely the best for weight though without a doubt.
You are being so damned dramatic. It isn't impossible to survive. You can still boil water to make it safe to drink. The only function that is pretty much impossible after water shutoff without using a natural water source is washing clothes

River water is contaminated in build 42 and is undrinkable unless you wanna die.
I didn't say anything about drinking it if you read my comment
@@viren_jalkun I was adding information, not correcting you lol.
Oh good tip to. IDK if this is new to B42 but I found a car that's trunk was full of grocery bags with food items in them all.

Echo 'Ridge'. For someone that loves Raven Creek so much you'd think you would remember a name so closely similar to it... xP
It's become such a bad habit lmao
2:06:11 I think that batteries charge while driving now. I noticed the charge going up while I played earlier. As you can see on the timestamp, the battery you removed were at 100%
Yep, tested it with a few vehicles. Your battery and engine condition affect the rate of charge from my observations.
Its been a thing before. Like said before its the dynamo or alternator. Been in b41 and i think even b40

Why would it make any difference whether the bed is a double bed or not? Yeah you still need to use a pillow for 'bigger' beds. c.c
@@viren_jalkun - Because the tooltip shows the same comfort level, with or without a pillow.
23:00 - It's a container, so you should be able to open it by selecting it from the loot sources after placing it on the ground.
best content on all YT after the build 42 update ^^

Hi Merry Christmas, if you want them to lay eggs you have to leave the hutch open.
Merry Christmas! We've since been told that they do have a laying season and that we're currently not in it 😄

It's forced on while B42 is still unstable, but I think there's a mod that hides the debug text

Merry Crustmas, Mr. Duck; Hey, what happens in the winter when the Turkey's water freezes?
sack of sand is great for winter to make your walkway not slippery :D
merry xmass Mr. Duck, @50:23 a pairring knife is a small fruit and vegitable knife, im not sure, but maybe used to craft fruit salads with a bowl??
The stream sound bytes are very annoying on the vods. I like to watch these when going to bed and it makes it difficult lol
Leave the egg door open in the hatch so that they can lay...if it ain't open they won't lay
I'll give that a try next. I've been told we're outside the usual Turkey laying season though, so we'll see :D
Does the vehicles feels more stiff while driving??? Can we do anything Abt it or we wait for update?
I didn't notice any difference tbh

Its stupid anyway. If you want to move objects without breaking them you need to be level 9 or 10 (in build 41).
Echo ridge is also a game streamer.
Last vod im watching if that sub noise keeps in the videos
Bye Felicia 👋
maybe leave egg laying door open?
am also wondering about this mechanic - why does an "egg door" exist in the first place? (in the game, not IRL)
Haha turkeys only lay eggs from 4 to 17 eggs per year and it’s not to eat more for making babies
