One distinct possibility........during a deposition a person is sometimes confronted with facts and evidence that directly contradicts and/or disproves the elements of the lawsuit they have filed. In such a scenario, the person may become despondent in realizing their long battle would be lost and the person could face public ridicule = motivation for a an exit.

@@zerocal76 we each have a right to our opinion, of course. what I find amazing is the number of people who jump to a "firm conclusion" in the absence of any credible facts. it's concerning, but not too surprising. the only headlines we see regarding Boeing relate to the recent issues. I have not seen any reports covering the actual safety record of Boeing airplanes. statistically, a person is safer on a Boeing airplane today than at any prior time. but such facts do not get clicks, while conspiracy theories attract thousands of viewers.

Incorrect, of course. Any rational person knows the public has very little evidence he was killed = no possible way to make such a conclusion. However, those with significant mental deficiencies that cause conspiracy-type thinking "feel" certain Boeing is to blame. Over time, the facts will become known and a rational conclusion will be possible.

What we need is an independent investigation calling check cell phones check emails somebody higher up had this done and there has to be a record of it somewhere with today’s technology. There is a text, there is a payment somewhere. I don’t think they’d be stupid enough to put in an email but you never now but I would be looking at text messages and payments. As mentioned in an earlier comment, Mr. Barnett's mother and brother seemed very guarded in what they said. I think they might perhaps have stated that they did not want to discuss the possibility that it wasn't a suicide. Had they even suggested it, they would have laid themselves open to retaliation on the part of the mighty Boeing, possibly in the form of legal action. And everyone knows that the little person rarely wins against the far greater funding for lawyers that has the corporate world.
I think they were wiser not to discuss it and to let the public draw its own conclusion. Which, as this thread shows, many people have. I think they were brave to be interviewed at all in their grief over their loved one's death and my heart goes out to them.

When the video spoke of metal shavings , it makes me remember what was done at DeHaviland to combat that problem . We had several light weight hand carried rechargeable vacuums . Every second day or so two people would walk through the aircraft from fore to aft vacuuming along the insides of the fuselage and under to get all that foreign material . If Boeing isn't doing this , that clearly indicates a very pronounced "Disciplinary Problem" on the part of the mechanical installation crews .
