- The challenge was if we raised $60, they would sing Watch What Happens (Reprise) but if we raised $100, then Rob McClure would match our donation! Corey Cott also matched our donation so we raised a total of $300!
I love how Corey just flat up forgets the words. To the musical. That he’s the lead in.

i love how he did the correct key change when he was like "i changed the key" and everyone laughs, but then later ben forgets the lyrics and moves it down!!! they started higher than written and ended lower hahaha!!!!

Ok so this is like my fifth time watching this in a row and I just realized that in addition to “and we’ve got jack!” someone also sings Les’s “stay on track” harmony at 2:28
how the heck did corey not know the lyrics he literally sings the song every night!
He just knows the lyrics when he is on stage
okay so i don't know if you're actually wanting an answer or not but, speaking as an actor--when you do a show regularly, everything becomes sort of muscle memory, you don't even really have to think "what's my next line?" because it just comes as naturally as normal speaking. buuut that's when you're doing it as part of a full show, in-character, after warming up and taking a moment to get "in character" and switch from being in the headspace of "i'm an actor" to being in the headspace of "i'm this character". without doing all of that, it's actually pretty easy to mess up. plus going from singing with a full orchestral backing to singing a capella can be jarring.
tl;dr a bakery is an entirely different environment than a stage and actors are creatures of habit who get thrown off by change
Marla Joseph oh, I am an actor too but have never done a show that ran for more than 2 weeks (I'm only 14). But that seems strange because other people still know the lines
I'm an actress and it's super easy to forget the lyrics when you're not in your typical performing space/ not in character. it happens
He probably relies on some of the music for cues on what to say and when to say it. It's like practicing something and knowing it by heart if you do it one way, but then you do it another way and your mind goes blank.
