this pistol was made in Ulm, Germany, virtually unchanged from 1952-1983. This one is an earlier version with the curved receiver back. Nice to see it saved! can't quite make out the serial number, This pistol had a smooth blue finish up to serial #23,200. It was a black crinkle enamel after that.
Yeah... this channel doesn't know the difference between a Russian product and a German one. Wasn't hard to spot. I've also noticed that they're one of those channels that likes to artificially age products to make it seem like they're doing more work.
Little correction. This is a German Walther LP 5 spring air pistol. There are remakes by Polish Predom Lucznik. But this is original German. The very same model James Bond shows on the movie poster „From Russia with Love.“ Nice work.

Fun fact: It was the most used gun on early James Bond movie posters. I had one of these myself for many years and it was the later model of the LP-53 with crinkled enamel.
Did you not realize that Walther is a German company and the Luft Pistole model 53 was made at their factory in Germany right ? They are not in any way Russian.

A lot of people don’t think it’s Russian because it clearly says Walther on the gun and your right it’s not Russian but it was used by James Bond in a photo shoot for his second movie “From Russia With Love”. Sean Connery arrived at the photo shoot to realize nobody brought his iconic PPK. but by luck the photographer practiced air gun target practice as a hobby so they decided to use it instead of the PPK. True story.
That pistol was the only one available for the photo shoot. It belonged to one of the photographer's assistants. Many years later it was put up at an auction. It was sold for around £23,000.
The Walter LP 53 was made in Weat Germany, not Russia. It is still regarded as a very good pistol. A second hand copy in good condition costs £400-500 today. I bought one in 1973 and passed it on to one of my nephews a few years ago.
This was painful to watch! Clean off the corrosion, repair the grip and replace the seals is as far it should have gone. The old finish tells a story. Somebody had the gun apart before because there was no grease on the springs!
Maybe it was done off camera but did you degrease everything before re bluing? Never seen a reaction likr that before/ Plus didn't notice anything being lubed when you put it back together either? Pretty good job on a rare air pistol.
Walther LP53 brown gripped early version. Quite valuable in good condition and boxed. The author may be confusing this pistol with a Predum Lucznik which was a copy of the LP53. Use soft vice jaws and a mallet.
Good job buddy, look like a new one.but them grips reminds me of that chocolate bunny use to get at Easter when I was little fella . "Hey" Hey!!! Don't shoot your eye out.
Great job! But using skin for a piston is not a good idea, not hermetically sealed. It was possible to put a piston from modern weapons =) Thanks for the video 💪💪🍻

How is it a 60’s Russian airgun when it clearly says “Walther”?
I’m not sure myself but maybe it was made on the Soviet side of Germany before the collapse of the Berlin Wall
