    Excellent, thank you! Ignore the comments saying you are doing it wrong. Not all of us are 'experts'. Those of us learning need to do it our own way and learn from our mistakes. And just because we don't do it perfect doesn't mean it doesn't work.

    I could see what a panhard rod could do to restrict movement of an axle, but was never sure...now I am really clear thanks to your excellent demonstration.

    Excellent!
    If for some reason you are not satisfied with the minimal lateral movement of the panhard and want to get even less, you can switch to a double linkage like TALGO trains use to self center their bogies, but I doub't you'll need to.

    Anti roll bar in the UK (not to be confused with the roll cage). Very simple and clever design, good job.

      Matthew Dobbs an anti roll bar is a different thing altogether - my car has a panhard rod *and* an anti roll bar!

    Some rubber bump stops may be a good idea to protect the axle if it ever bottoms out

    Nice looking job! I would think the final weight will be a bit higher, so that the panhard rod mount in the frame will actually end up below the center of the axle? I mean it's just a bare frame there now.

    From the factory on those ford transverse leaf spring suspensions was there anything to prevent the rear end to move side to side, or did they just rely on the shocks to dampen the movement?

    Great build! I would have used a rod-end and made it adjustable. Also, I wouldn't recommend plug welding cast mystery metal. Best of luck!

    We use pam hard bars in NASCAR. Always have and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Simple and effective. We set ours up so the car rolls into the left turn. Since most races are run on a oval or sutch where you go fast and turn left. When we do road corses it’s rain or shine because we have rain tires and all road corse cars have to have wipers, 1 break light in the top center of the rear glass, and defrost bc if it’s raining and you don’t have it u are fuked.

    If the rear axle is hung on the spring/shackles on a Ford torque tube (banjo) rear end, a panhard bar isn't necessary

    Im rusty on my trigonometry but with the panhard bar being fixed in length wouldnt that shift the body as the suspension compresses?

      Yes it does and he mentioned this in the video. What he didn't say is a long bar has less change over a given range of travel than a short bar, all other things being equal.

    Good job but you really should have made it adjustable . However it will work as is just fine after all factory bars are not adjustable. I just prefer to make all suspension links adjustable.

    If I was doing this I'd be second guessing my bracket locations so much I would have to make the bar adjustable or I'd never actually weld the damn thing.

    watts link is easy to build
    Its more precise than panhard bar
    Lot of the old hot rodders use on since it was invented in the 30’s

    Chassis mount is too low, this dictates roll center, is the most important geometry in the car
