The hourly average rate is $20 an hour. That just covers the standard mileage rate of 65 cents - meaning drivers income comes straight from their vehicle’s depreciation. The true profit, if any, is tips.
In essence drivers job is akin to a waitress job who make ~$3/hour plus tips but the difference is people rarely tip Uber drivers..

What he’s saying is, the amount drivers earn during surge prices, when it’s -20° outside, heavy snowfall, schools and offices closed due to inability to commute. People sit at home during the freezing rain and snow storm and order from Uber Eats.

So for all of us drivers that signed up for 80/20 7 yrs ago did you realize that we are grandfathered in to that contract even though you forced us to resign different contracts while we were actually on the road with riders in our car saying sign now or be shut off until you sign well our lawyers say that is totally illegal you cant force us to sign anything anything
Exactly what the Uber has been doing for the past few years. Although we are independent contractors, not Uber employees. Folks, in my opinion, we can sue Uber/Lyft while we are independent contractors, but they are paying us hourly, which is not in the contract.
i love how he talks about the "Fleet" as if it were his. HE should just call us his "Sheep" with how much he likes to F the drivers.
I refuse to pay for a taxi if I have to share it with strangers. That's already been done. It's called the bus. Everyone hates it. It sucks.

Enjoy uber in Canada. So many immigrants that it drives the rates way down (good as a customer). Can effectively have a driver for the same cost as owning a car because I live in a central location.
@@SPINEVENTZ In Canada most are recent immigrants. Most immigrants come in through the points system. If you have a criminal record in your home country you can't come. Most are professionals from other countries that don't have an easy path to getting their credentials recognized in Canada.

This guy is a bold face liar. Even if someone did design a rideshare EV there aren't enough quick or supercharger areas to keep you rolling. This is just a video to find fools to but into the Uber story. This company makes billions, not profitable and screws drivers and riders on a daily basis, because of their own stupidity and sins.
Being a driver is an option. the company value is not just how they make money but what value they brought to society. They created new source of economy and options for many people. And we will never know what they can do in the future

At $39 an hour I think every Uber driver should be able to afford EVs priced as they are. Oh but wait aren’t drivers being replaced by autonomous vehicles that the CEO has been bragging about for the last decade? Which is it? Maybe shareholders the public, passengers, and drivers maybe one day will have the truth. Why do these reporters ask real questions? How many more people have to pay for Uber to be a company? Drivers pay for fuel and supplies, passengers pay for the ride times two, shareholders invested in a company that they thought would be double what it’s worth actually, restaurants that have to pay 35% of the orders from UE, taxpayers have been paying for out of work workers during Covid that Uber didn’t set aside money for, the government subsidize is there a little side projects with bikes and scooters, and now they want auto motive companies to change the safety and regulations so they can get cheaper vehicles for drivers that they keep saying they won’t need it a year?
Most drivers live in their cars and can’t even afford a 1 bedroom apartment
