Can confirm. Lebanese here (West Asia) and my parents are exacfly like this. There's definitely some pros and cons to this parenting style, but it's way better than parents who let their kids run around without any consequences for their actions! 😂

My mom was the same way and I thank God for her because I always knew she really loved me and was afraid I would make a bad decision and change my life forever but as a kid you feel like it’s too much but when you grow up you see that she really cared about you and she wasn’t perfect and tried to look out for her baby girl to the best of her ability 🥰

She was sooo strict and of course naturally I rebelled and made plenty mistakes that I used to regret (not now, I’ve made peace with it now for the most part) but after those things happened to me I understood and changed myself completely. I’m so happy and thankful for the person it made me today. I think parents should definitely be more open and understanding and then there’s no need to be sneaky. Whether you allow it or not, your child will make mistakes and learn from it

I disagree because Jeannie said she was getting to know the guy maybe he just felt a little creeped out especially if he didn't really know Mamma Mia and what her personality is like. Social media is also a very public place and with Jeannie and the mystery man having public jobs maybe he felt that it was inappropriate or that the tabloids would twist things.
