    Microwave is sacrilege unless you're making condiments for a salad. It needs to be tender and juicy

    I like bacon 🥓 both ways. But if going hot and fast, a bacon press is used to cure that curly, white fat.

    Great video. I griddle my bacon low and slow. I lay all my bacon on cold griddle and put the 2 large bacon presses on top then turn on bottle and ignite griddle. After bacon is done lay on 2 layers of paper towels with 2 layers over top and press out grease. Guess I’m OCD. LOL. Thanks for the videos again.

    I never paid much attention to temp, just throw it on and slap a press on it if it looks like it wants to go curly. Both looked tasty to me👍😊

    Fantastic comparison, Mike. I like to cook mine in the oven at 390° for around 30 minutes. It turns out perfect and flat every time. Cook it less time or more time depending on your preference. Also, my friend, try with a steak/bacon press, but be careful because it cooks much faster when it's pressed. Everything is better with bacon, so this was a super fantastic video, brother. 👍👍

      When I cook it in the oven, I use a baking sheet with a cooling rack to let the grease drip away

    Oven cooked bacon in my opinion is the best way, gets perfectly crispy. I worked in restaurants for 10+ years and I used to munch on the bacon I cooked at Wendy's 😂 That was oven cooked bacon. The next restaurant I used to be the opening chef and I cooked sooo much bacon everyday on the flat top. I'm about to grill some bacon now for the first time in close to 5 years 😂 Wish me luck

    I’m shocked that hot and fast was the winner! I might try to find something in between.

    We cook it in the microwave. Never curls up and can be easily cooked just a bit longer to get it just right. In the griddle I use a press to keep it flat and just cook till it is the way we like it no matter what the temp.

      Yes I think so too but other than that 5 minutes is way better than 15. Then again I enjoy cooking so what's the rush lol... Thanks for the comment David!!

    Hot and fast outside for sure, I've come to love the texture changes and flavor changes you get. Wouldn't have it any other way with my bacon cheese burgers, they are done hot fast too. End up with some nice charring and still med rare.

    Low and slow? I'm off and cold. 😅 I put the bacon on first, then turn the burners on low. As you saw, hot and fast and there is more tendency to curl. Good comparison.

  • @ABobbyDee
    @ABobbyDee ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We like crisp bacon and crispier than yours looked. No white fat. Must be cooked. Using a press keeps the bacon flat.

    There is NO way I would cook bacon at 500 . It's worth the time to cook such a delicious cut of meat slow and low ! But , when you're going to cook the hell out of it like you do, I guess it doesn't matter !

    I say your most likely an amateur cook if you cook your bacon hot and fast. Bacon IMO shouldn’t be brittle and taste burnt. It should be crispy but also chewy, it taste better. It goes for cooking eggs low and slow for creamy moist eggs. There shouldn’t be a layer of burnt eggs on the pan. But I guess we all have preferences. And also like cooking steak it should be cook medium -rare not well done, it loses flavor and texture.
