I was wondering if this would essentially work with Shogun 2? I saw the game pop up in the game selected option in the beginning there so just double checking. Entirely new to all of this but have some very basic Blender knowledge. Thank you!
The best wh modding project out there, thanks for all the work all of you are putting into this. Would you mind giving some direction to start learning about animating? Like, what should I Google. I also mod wh and want to dive into making my own animations but I'm completely loss tbh
Hey great work and I am very very excited for the modding future of WH3 ! I recently started on editing models via the Asseteditor but am scared away from the rigging and animation part of it. Any chance you can work your magic on a tutorial for the Asseteditor-Rigging ?? thx for your insight 😁
i have not messed around with asset editor for rigging, i've been using it for viewing the animations and transfering anims to different rigs. You could try your luck in the Modding Den discord for more infos on the asset editor rigging process
Is the plan for contributors to use this rig that you've already created to pump out the animations, or are you expecting people to be making their own rigs? You should do an animation video next so we can see what is going on. Also is it feasible for people to expect to do this with minimal training in animation or are you only looking for people who are essentially animators by trade or those attempting to start a career in animation?
Hey, so if i have already rigged a character and somebody wants to use him he can use the rig i made. The thing is right now we are trying to put motion capture on the rigs and the setup i made with Biped on 3dsmax won't load those mocaps, so i will be making a switch to Maya, where 1 of the other animators is working and we will be able to use motion capture on our rigs there. Everytime somebody starts working on a new character we need to rig it (which is very easy with Maya using HumanIK) and then we share those rigs, so anybody can work on the characters. I have animators of all levels joining the project, it's a nice way for everybody to have fun and train his skills, so even if you are super new to this you can work with us :) everybody is welcome
I will make another video on the setup we do in Maya once i get to it, i've been deep in the game files and still am for now, not animating much but trying to nail the modding part
I'm an animator, to be honest i'm bad at rigging, but doing what i do in the video is quite simple and really doesn't require any rigging skill. There is no need for skinning since the characters i pull out of the game files already have their existing skeleton and are all skinned, all we have to do is put controls on that skeleton, here i am just creating a Biped and making it match the existing skeleton, then i drive the skeleton with the biped. It's very simple, just have to spend little time putting the bones in the right place and making all of contraints position and rotations on each bone.
@@blacklight4720 yes i'm technically rigging the rig with a skeleton that already has all the controls we need, i can even load motion capture. For the previous animations i did it was all handkey animations, but i will be working with another animator who can do his own motion captures so we will be working with those aswell
@@xiphos He got the suit? What about motion cleaning? I heard it's annoying job. Any good luck, I'd like to see the results. On the side not, how hard would it to motion capture animations, like the ones in "For Honor"?
@@blacklight4720 apparently he's using Vive trackers and Unreal. I work on motion capture everyday for my job, i clean them for ingame animations so i'm used to that, we record our animations with Xsens suit in our office it's pretty awesome. For Honor animations are pretty insane, but as long as you have a motion capture setup you could do it with enough work.
Thats a lot of work that goes into modding, great to see a video on the behind the scenes

This needs to be a sync kill, I want to see Archaon do the macarana over Karl's dead body
Awesome
wow this stuff is so boring to do but the animation is awsome when done keep up the good work bruh Sigmar blessing to you
Great work! Does this actually work for other TW titles as well? :)
Are you adding single animations or do you intend to make this a bigger project?
Many anims, as many as possible

Cool, I did not know that you're a rigger. Does the process requires "Skin Weight painting"?

Glad there is no skinning, I hate this part with passion.
