As long as I don't see any leaks, I change the factory fill on CVTs by weighing what comes out and putting the same amount back. Think that'll work on the zf9 without going through the 1-4 gear in maintenance mode?
You can do that but it's not the best practice. The transmission could be low to begin with and if you do that method you wont fill it enough and that can cause failure over time. If you are certain the proper amount of fluid is in it than sure but if not, follow the procedure and cover your ass
I noticed you said new drain plug? Is that just on the 9 speed or others. Also the new 9 speed has alot of quirky ways of checking fluid to putting in maintenence mode. I always like learning. My 21 civic.... when I do drain and fill of cvt. I put new crush washer on drain plug and re install. I hope that is correct. Is there a service book I can buy for my car like a honda one.
The volume of fluid changes depending on temperature hence why there's a temperature range in the service manual. With that said, I have an AC weight scale that'll give me measurements down to the grams/oz, so I've always weighed out and back in if I know it's not low/leaking.
Honda maintenance mode code: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A
Still remember selling ATF 3.1 when I worked at a dealer parts department. People used to flip out all the time lol
For a young dude I'm very impressed with your 80s pop culture references!! 😂😂😂 Bud
Some fresh clean engine oil and trans fluid for ya Bud.

9 Speeds are the only ones that require the plug to be replaced, the rest just use washers 👌
What are the rags you use, in the autocare place I work at we only use blue roll.
Do you have any video's on 2018 pilot transmission service for the 6 speed? Love to see one of them.
This guy never answers questions. I don’t know why. Great video horrible with the views not good bud

Can I get a link to the music you use in your videos?
can use that fluid pump you was on a car that’s on ramps? with the same technique you was doing
I taught you put the trans fluid in just like the pilot/passport 9speed the odyssey is different I see
They are all this procedure, the 10 speed is different
I enjoy bro's content, but he never interacts with comments when people ask questions 😢😢.
I get literally thousands of comments daily, I respond to tons, especially on TikTok. Impossible to respond to them all I try 🥲👍
you know there is a fill plug up top it takes 4.5 quarts its on the
This is the proper procedure. You never know how much or how little someone filled it before.
@@TEVIDEOS Thats why it takes 4.5 quarts so you always know how much you put in there
Fuck all that, just measure what comes out and pour it back in up top.
What if it's low or over filled to begin with? 🤔 You will continue to underfill/overfill which will cause failure eventually. This is the proper way
