I finally did it and it turns out to be so simple that it was a borderline oversight. After some testing, I realized that special arrows can be used with extra attacks IF AND ONLY IF they are directly in your inventory and not in any other container like a bag. I had organized my arrows the entire run in bags and now I feel silly 😅Additionally I figured out how to initiate Surprise Round against Raphael! Build (for those interested) : Gloomstalker (5), Assassin (4), Champion (3) Important Gear - Sarevok's Helm for crit chance, Darl Justiciar Gauntlet and Ambusher sword for necrotic damage dice, Dead shot for keen attacks and crit chance, Risky Ring for advantage, Strange Conduit for psychic damage dice.
Great build but if you are going for assassin then you could've used the dolor amerus weapons with the craterfish gloves. Their extra damage don't just proc on the specific weapon but procs on all of them, including the gloves. Your damage absolutely sucks if you don't crit but if you do, it's the highest damage I've ever seen tbh
From what I have read, Dolor seems to be a bugged interaction as the text states "with this weapon". I forgot to buy the craterflesh before dispatching Sarevok and realized it too late, too deep to bother reloading. Edit: I looked up the wiki on Dolor Amarus and it says " When you land a Critical Hit with any weapon attack, it deals an additional 7 damage ". Gonna try it out in my next run for sure. don't know why I was thinking with this weapon.
Yeah, the ingame tooltip is wrong or the weapon is bugged, either of the two. That's probably why it isn't known that much. In actuality that 7 damage is tripled (if you have all 3 equipped) and added to your main damage dealer attacks.@@rudrasgamingcafe875
You made me realise I can smash the haste potion and then walk into the vapours instead of using an action to drink it. Plus use a single for potion for multiple party members ❤
Yep it’s a neat little trick. You can also break them with weapon attack, hazard surface. And the potion effects don’t expire on the ground, so you can throw multiple to create tactical advantage. Although keep in mind, enemies can walk over them and steal the effect so placement has to be correct.
What is that insanely long list of effects on your character? Just the gear & potions? You need to make a build guide. I barely understand how you had so many actions, even with haste & action surge. Well done 💪🏽
If you are playing a martial character that does not need to long rest you can stack a ton of buffs that last till long rest making them permanent buffs. On top of that there are stackable potions and elixir buff and effects from items.
Basically use hirelings to apply buffs back at base (cleric, bard, wizard), then potions and an elixir, and any gear-based buffs that last even after unequipping the gear.
If this was attempted in Honor Mode you wouldn't have been able to apply Perilous Stakes to Raph... but would it have even mattered? You could have still killed all the cambions on turn one, and even if Raph required an extra turn or two you probably would have still lived. Nice work
If this was honor mode I would be using amulet of branding to apply pierce vuln on a solo run. In my current full party honor mode run my plan is to utilize bhaalist armor.
Raphael in honor mode has legendary reaction during your turn even if u get higher initiative than him and get to hit first he retaliates anyway. « Spending a Legendary Action, Raphael can react to being struck by immediately attempting to Beguile his attacker and the attacker's allies. It can be used up to four times per round, and Beguiled creatures cannot attack Raphael. »
You are correct. In honor mode, With a gloomstalker assassin you will get 6 attacks with bloodlust and speed potion (using komira as a proc for bloodlust with many targets arrow) and 1 dread ambusher. It might just be better to Nuke Rapahel directly in a surprise round. Need to find out if Rapahel’s beguile can work in a surprise round though. Does anyone know?
In Honor mode perilous stakes can only applied to allies, not enemies. The substitute to applying pierce vuln is to use amulet of branding or bhaalist armor in honor mode.
This might seem like a super noobish question, but why do I see people skipping using their reactions in videos? Isn’t always advantageous to use them or what am I missing?
Great Question. You can take the reaction at any time during your turn. When you generate more action points you can delay the reaction slot for an advantageous hit rather than use it when not necessary. For example, I may want to use sneak attack only on Raphael, so I would not use the reaction when I hit other targets.
This video was made when I was doing Solo Tactician run to learn the game mechanics. I did Honor mode recently. You can see the Honor Mode Raphael fight in my channel too if you like. Currently doing solo Honor mode with Astarion.

(dies)
🤣
This gave me hope that I can solo tac so bless ur soul
I am so glad to hear it! Solo runs are always fun to do.
Cant be killed by a devil army if you kill them first! (Big brain moment)

Raphael can be surprised. Can surprised enemies use reactions? Also arrow of many targets kind of bypass beguiled like sanctuary, no?
Wait am I wrong, but I thought you don't get extra attacks from extra actions (except action surge) in honor mode?

I don't understand how do you apply perilous stake on ennemies... I tried one time and it said to me "only allies" x(

Where is your second Extra Attack coming from?
No idea what happend
I tried to explain most of what I am doing with text in the video. if there is a specific question I can help with, feel free to ask :)

why not honor mode

imagine if one of your 96% attacks rolled the 4% and missed 😭 that wouldve made me exit the game
I think I forgot to apply oil of accuracy 😂. I have missed attacks with 99% chance with advantage. Nothing beats a double nat 1.
Gloomstaker 5 assassin 5 fighter 2?
Assassin 4, champion 3
@@rudrasgamingcafe875 you werent leven 12 even :0
@LaPtaVerdad no no 😂Gloomstalker 5, assassin 4 and champion 3. Not assassin 5 fighter 2 like you wondered
@@rudrasgamingcafe875 oh ok xD
What’s your gears? This is a fantastic build.
this not actual.
Why not just do honor mode at this point? Many people have solo tacticianed. I think it’d be a far better challenge and content
This was the first time I played the game to learn the game. I am currently in act 3 of my first honor mode run.
