Dang, seems like a good deal if it's really reliable. The Wireless Go II from Rode is like $300, and I'd still have to spend like $90 for each lav mic, and charge them all separately. Love Rode's customer service, but the value is really nice from Godox.

Don't forget the extra $40 for 2 magnets from Rode. All these other companies are providing those magnets for free or built in :(

Excellent review ! I am now subscribed ! I was looking at the DJI wireless mic but is very expensive compared to this one. Most videos on wireless mics will be forward facing. Did you try the max range with the mic facing the camera ? Walking backwards instead of facing away?

Thanks for this - in SE Asia I have to pay shipping & duty fees on top of the retail price for Rode products. For some reason, the Godox Movelink does not have the extra added fees.

For the price, the range, the quality, usability, battery life, etc, this will definitely be a perfect choice. I don’t own a lav mic, but I’m sure I’ll end up needing one in the future. Therefore, this is a great choice for me when the time comes.

It drove me mad to see a VCR blinking at 12:00. I'd always change it most of the time lol. I am in the market at some point this year to get myself some mics and start doing some video work. I'll had this to my list of things to consider. Thanks for the testing and sharing your results! Always appreciate your videos, keep it up my brother! Greetings from Alabama ;)

Hi there! I have to say, your video rather depressed me. To see that something so thoroughly thought out, researched, produced, and well performed, could only have a hundred comments gives me very little hope for my own channels. Your video was tremendously helpful and I now feel like I am adequately suited to decide on whether or not it should be my next wireless lavalier system. So, if the likes and comments aren't enough, I hope my sincerest thanks helps to bring it to bear.

What a coincidence--I am looking for a wireless mic system and your review sealed the deal for me. I especially like the in-case charging capability, builtin or lav mic option, and the stereo-mono features, as well as the informative screens. Amazon, here I come... Thanks, Chris!

Haha, loved the VCR comment. On top of that, programming the display was useless if you had to unplug the darn thing from time to time! On the mics: yes, something making the receiver pop out of the 3 little boxes would've been so helpful. Excellent review, great job as always.

I am missing the backup function that Rode WGII offers. Especially when the receiver loses connection: you grab the audio from the backup within the transmitter.

I noticed at 2:30 in the screenshot of info that Godox claim that Wi-fi and Bluetooth will not interfere with transmission. Since your transmission test was probably far from such other transmissions, I wondered whether you saw any evidence of interference while you were in the studio?

Hi Pal2Tech. For the audio quality test section, what is the setup ? Did you directly connect the godox receiver to the X-T3/X-T4 or did you use an external recorder ? In case you connected it to your X-T4, can you share X-T4 parameter for external mic ( -x dB) ? Nice and useful video as always. Regards

Interesting. I always use my Rode Wireless Go out in the field. But I had to glue the deadcat to the transmitter otherwise it would always fall off. How is the mechanism for attaching the deadcat for these Godox's? It's not a dealbreaker if they are kind of fiddly, just curious. And thanks for putting this out!

oh shoot. I just watched a video on the dji system, and I love it, but it more expensive than the Rode System. This is cheaper and honestly has all the features I would need. Not having the local recording to the transmitter is a little disappointing as I always like to have a backup, but I can get back up audio other ways like having a good quality scratch track.

Hi, I use this unit paired with my Sony ZV-E10 for my vlogs and for live reporting. I never experienced any problems when using it for vlogging however, the Transmitter and Receiver will disconnect with each other after 47 mins. of broadcast. It won't reconnect after a while and goes back to normal if I don't use it for awhile. I don't know if this is a signal interference problem or a battery problem since they usually disconnect if the receiver battery level is not full. Can anyone help me with my problem because it's really troublesome when it disconnects and you can't use it for awhile. Thank you so much.

Nah! Range is an over-hyped specification. Getting maybe at most 50' away from the camera doesn't exceed 98% of us. Congested UHF signal? 2.4gHz is WAY more congested than UHF. The single channel Rode 2 is the optimal value now as it records at both locations which is very important to 1A folks who get their stuff taken by the police all the time. Once DJI offers a single channel option, it's all over for the Rode wireless microphones until they "retool" and offer a 3 version.
