I don’t think the hermits understand a very simple thing, we like them. We don’t need them to produce amazing builds every episode. We are entertained by their interactions and being themselves and just hanging out together. They put themselves under so much stress and here we are just enjoying them talking to each other. I’m sure if tango looks at his analytics on this he will see where the increase in watching is going on.
Cleo always seems to be up for armor stands, the question is this. How many would need to be made and would they move to different spots around the dungeon or just pop out and back in, in one location?
@@Xavi_Shado normally she is, but she was very close friends with tfc and needs some time to grieve his passing. I meant more that she would be up for it, but just hoping that us (the audience), wouldn't pressure her too much to do it before she's had time to grieve the passing of her close friend.

Yeah, she didn't outright say it in her video, but you could tell they were really good friends from their past colabs (especially season 6 from what I can remember) and how upset she was in her recent video, where she was struggling to put things into words. I'm sure she'll be up for making some amazing statues in decked out later on, but for now it's best for us to let her do her own thing to get through tfc's passing and not pressure her to do anything until she's ready.

I like the idea of something like "Paranoia" for the hazard mechanic. Implying that the longer you're in the dungeon, the more you start to feel like the dungeon itself is out to get you.
Seeing Grian creeping around like that with that head on gave me an idea. Remember Shady e e es. from Etho in season 7? He had an armorstand floating from left to right there in the shop. You could do something like that at random places as a kind of scare or so.
You'll probably not see this, but I wanna suggest something. Since Hermitcraft has the redstone jukeboxes and the ability to make custom sounds for the records, you could make certain areas trigger jukeboxes to play custom voice sounds- like warnings or taunting (in spooky voices) and/or eerie sounds as players enter and/or leave the area(s). I believe this will give a whole new scary feel to Decked Out 2.0 💜
So that moment in the last season where Scar was pranking Grain and said he forgot his pants... This brings it to a whole new level. No wonder Grian lost it when he said that.

Hermits interacting: that is the reason I watch hermitcraft. Long collabs like this with mostly just lots of talking are never in the actual videos because they just don’t have time for them but I would really really love to see more of it. Please do more of stuff like this guys!!!!
Seriously a Hermit Podcast needs to be a thing. Having a core group, the among us hermits (Tango, Bdubs, Scar, Etho) have such great chemistry together. Do a weekly podcast with them and a guest. You guys have 7mil subs together would do great.
They should do a community project and just talk. Best part of Hermitcraft is when members just talk. I am here for the builds but the interactions is what keeps me coming back.
You could have the healing room off by default with a beacon, and you need to complete a quest to turn it on, but decorate it so they know the area is designed to heal you, but they know there is a piece missing to it, like a book they need to throw in the hopper or even a frost ember to activate it. So that way they know if they want to spend the time to complete that quest on a particular run they can heal themselves if they really need it, and if they don’t they can just skip that room. it will turn off again after a short time so they don’t camp it, if they choose to do it. This way there is another minor reward for another quest. To me it sounded like there needed to be more quests, and thought this could be one
Another word for Hazard could be Slumber. The dungeon itself is alive but you're raiding it while it's sleeping. But it wakes up after some time. So it could be a slumber meter that goes down instead of up, and when it reaches 0 the dungeon " wakes up " and sends everything to kill you. I could also suggest Ticktock (the sound of a clock ticking) if it wasn't already used by a social media platform. But it works perfect with Clank because it's a sound that signifies exactly what the issue is.
Ooh... I like the clear ice with packed ice beneath it. Imagine if you had an artfully displayed armor stand of yourself frozen in the ice down there as an Easter egg for anyone who happened to glance down into the ice while running through. Haha
Loving the way Decked Out 2 is coming so far, I wasn't around for the first one and now I wish I was. I would like to suggest either 'Chaos' or 'Destruction' as alternatives for what you are currently calling Hazard. Keep up the good work, so excited to see the next levels.
If anyone is curious, the reason why the spelling is different from american English and English English is that when the american press started up, they charged by the letter, so words had letters removed to reduce cost.
I never watch streams, because they're a bit long for me and my internet is being a potato most of the time. But I lucked out catching that one live, first from scar's perspective then from yours Mr. Tango, and it's the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. Epic podcast moments, amazing creepy Grian, and seeing decked out 2 in the making? inspiring!

Threshold? I just saw you said no more word ideas, but it certainly holds the intention on several levels. It rolls off the tongue a little more readily. It is the entry, the threshold to the room, your threshold of pain, the threshold of the dungeon to tolerate your presence... I don't know. It seems a little more elegant than hazard however that's perhaps just in my mind. Your mind is a delight. Thanks for sharing these streams as I don't do twitch. Wonderful! Thanks so much!
i always liked the idea of the hazard mechanic being something like "quaking"/"rumbling"/"instability", to tie the physical stability of the dungeon back to the wardens theme/mechanic based on sound and destruction of the city in level 4
Hey Tango. I feel like the concept of 'sanity' in Phasmophobia is to act as an increasing level of danger as you try to discover the type of ghost. It's kind of like a fear level, the longer your in the haunted area then the more 'insane' you become and therefore your sanity is lowered which increases the level of threat and interactions made by the ghost. Therefore, I do feel like this is a similar idea as to what's happening with Hazard; meaning it would be very fitting for the game. However, I understand how it may not be completely ideal for Decked out 2 (due to the lack of scary ghost things). Though, going with the idea that Hazard is the measure of how scary the dungeon becomes due to how long you've been inside, you could use 'fear' or 'panic' as your word for it. Kind of like, you've become more scared and therefore the dungeon appears worse in your head because you're afraid. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, great stream as always!

Thinking about "heat" or maybe "threat" as an option instead of hazard. But hazard sounds actually really nice. Maybe there could be some kind of little sanity quests and/or rooms to lower the hazard level during the run?
@15:10 there is a way to have special wings, Gem does it in her Empire series. There are mods that allow you to make custom capes/elytras :) I use Forge but i think there are ones for Fabric as well.
Question to the ppl who follow all of Tango's streams: Does he plan to do something interactive like the soul flames to punch out that he had in Decked Out 1? I remember Etho going nuts for those soul flames and I loved watching his runs. I mean it's cool that there's custom items dropping from the ceiling, but are the Hermits just running around in the dungeon, searching for the spot to drop the compass and collecting stuff or will they have to do little tasks in the dungeon?
2:09:10 Use beacon Beam for healing, make it a redstone button you press a button and a redstone timer changes a tinted glass(that blocks the beam) with a seethrough glass or something, and make the redstone button only able to activate once pr run (and pr level), this way you dont have Hermits running back to these rooms all the time to heal up every time they take damage, making it a once-off seems more practical
If you want to do the healing rooms, remember that to get the regeneration effect you need the full-sized beacon. So the range would be huge. Also, I like "Hazard".

Great VOD/Podcast. It entertained me greatly. Sometimes its nice to just listen in on conversations, particularly when people are from different regions/cultures of the world. Did you know a milkshake is called a cabinet in Rhode Island? Fun stuff! About chocolate now... Hershey's chocolate is what Grian is talking about. They use butyric acid and sour their milk. It gives it a unique taste. Tell you what, I can't stand Hershey's anymore. Not since I stopped eating Milk Chocolate wanting a lower sugar chocolate many years ago. Special Dark is still full of sugar, so I now eat Ghirardelli, Lindt, or if I can find it, Belgium or Swiss Chocolate. Used to love chocolate much more. Now... not so much, really.
Hermitcraft podcast with rotating cast would be amazing and something I've thought would be a great addition to the community. I listened to yogscast and the old mindcrack podcast back in the day. I think the community would totally be into it, just a matter if the cast of hermitcraft would be down and could coordinate something like this with their crazy schedules.

Maybe have buttons open a secret somewhere in the dungeon after they have been pressed a certain number of times. But you can only press it once per run and it increases clank by pressing it
2 things I'm wondering with the pop up walls hazard gates - Can they be jumped over with jump boost? And if you are on the wrong side of one surely you'll be stuck on that side - couldn't you have another block pop up on one side to allow you (and ravagers) back onto the main track?

Loving the way Decked Out 2 is coming so far, I wasn't around for the first one and now I wish I was. I would like to suggest either 'Chaos' or 'Destruction' as alternatives for what you are currently calling Hazard. Keep up the good work, so excited to see the next levels.
If anyone is curious, the reason why the spelling is different from american English and English English is that when the american press started up, they charged by the letter, so words had letters removed to reduce cost.

I just saw you said no more word ideas, but it certainly holds the intention on several levels. It rolls off the tongue a little more readily. It is the entry, the threshold to the room, your threshold of pain, the threshold of the dungeon to tolerate your presence... I don't know. It seems a little more elegant than hazard however that's perhaps just in my mind.

Since the hermits use vanilla tweaks there actually IS black elytra that you can add on there as part of the texture pack.
i always liked the idea of the hazard mechanic being something like "quaking"/"rumbling"/"instability", to tie the physical stability of the dungeon back to the wardens theme/mechanic based on sound and destruction of the city in level 4

Hey Tango. I feel like the concept of 'sanity' in Phasmophobia is to act as an increasing level of danger as you try to discover the type of ghost. It's kind of like a fear level, the longer your in the haunted area then the more 'insane' you become and therefore your sanity is lowered which increases the level of threat and interactions made by the ghost. Therefore, I do feel like this is a similar idea as to what's happening with Hazard; meaning it would be very fitting for the game. However, I understand how it may not be completely ideal for Decked out 2 (due to the lack of scary ghost things). Though, going with the idea that Hazard is the measure of how scary the dungeon becomes due to how long you've been inside, you could use 'fear' or 'panic' as your word for it. Kind of like, you've become more scared and therefore the dungeon appears worse in your head because you're afraid. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, great stream as always!
@Tango there are restaurants in California that makes you pay to use the restroom. They have a coin thing to open the door. Some gas stations, too.

Thinking about "heat" or maybe "threat" as an option instead of hazard. But hazard sounds actually really nice. Maybe there could be some kind of little sanity quests and/or rooms to lower the hazard level during the run?
@15:10 there is a way to have special wings, Gem does it in her Empire series. There are mods that allow you to make custom capes/elytras :)

Question to the ppl who follow all of Tango's streams: Does he plan to do something interactive like the soul flames to punch out that he had in Decked Out 1? I remember Etho going nuts for those soul flames and I loved watching his runs. I mean it's cool that there's custom items dropping from the ceiling, but are the Hermits just running around in the dungeon, searching for the spot to drop the compass and collecting stuff or will they have to do little tasks in the dungeon?

2:09:10 Use beacon Beam for healing, make it a redstone button you press a button and a redstone timer changes a tinted glass(that blocks the beam) with a seethrough glass or something, and make the redstone button only able to activate once pr run (and pr level), this way you dont have Hermits running back to these rooms all the time to heal up every time they take damage, making it a once-off seems more practical

Hershey's chocolate is what Grian is talking about. They use butyric acid and sour their milk. It gives it a unique taste. Tell you what, I can't stand Hershey's anymore. Not since I stopped eating Milk Chocolate wanting a lower sugar chocolate many years ago. Special Dark is still full of sugar, so I now eat Ghirardelli, Lindt, or if I can find it, Belgium or Swiss Chocolate.
Used to love chocolate much more. Now... not so much, really.
Hermitcraft podcast with rotating cast would be amazing and something I've thought would be a great addition to the community. I listened to yogscast and the old mindcrack podcast back in the day. I think the community would totally be into it, just a matter if the cast of hermitcraft would be down and could coordinate something like this with their crazy schedules.

Maybe have buttons open a secret somewhere in the dungeon after they have been pressed a certain number of times. But you can only press it once per run and it increases clank by pressing it
