I have the same scope and don't use the 2" extension piece, I just unscrew the the 1.25" to 2" adapter and screw on my canon T ring. I would recommend a remote control shutter, they are only 6 quid on ebay and allow you to set the camera to bulb mode and manually control exposure time all without touching the camera and making the scope wobble.
I did end up removing the 2” extension piece once I’d taken the telescope outside, I do have a remote shutter release cable but I was using a different camera to my regular camera so my shutter cable wouldn’t fit :/ thanks though :))
Tbh I got a nice light touch, so as of right now I'm just taking photos with my fingers 😁 I'm using my Samsung s22 galaxy plus and it takes some amazing photos as seen here with that guys camera. Just tweaking with the settings got it there, anyways cheers for the suggestion even tho it was sent for the TH-camr 🫡 I plan on getting an app that can take photos for me remotely
What a coincidence. I have the same 8" SWA and just yesterday I ordered the same Omni Barlow. If the skies allow it, we might get a glimps on the green tailed Comet 2022 E3 between now and end of this month.
Sister has just got one on the same make telescopes for her birthday.. it’s got the red dot finders Scopes but came with a Barlow scope also. 4 hours into the ‘build’ we are finally getting grips with it all.. telescope has be removed and remounted correctly/incorrectly in true astriñere tradition(more than thrice) now pointing the right way.. Tomorrow we ‘bore sight’ the two scopes hoping to at least be able to look at the moon(cloudy tonight) let’s see..
Im a brand new stargazer, I got a Explore Firstlight Dobsonian, and some excellent eyepieces for Christmas! But I realized I also needed a grab and go, as the Dob is cumbersome, and with collimation, takes 15 minutes to set up. So, I also bought a Celestron Omni AZ 102mm refractor. Both are 2 inch compatible for camera attachments, for future astrophotography. They can also share most of the eyepieces, so it's a win win! It is unbelievable what you can see with a Dob! You are hand tracking objects, and taking such nice clear pics! Looks excellent! I liked and subscribed!
Glad the videos are back! The new lens looks amazing :)

@@mtmcommunity I used to use a 5 second timer on my phone, gives a bit of time for the scope to stop moving to get sharper pics.
I use a variable polarizing filter for the different phases of the Moon. Darkens it to just where I want, useful for the daytime Moon as well.
What filter do you recommend for jupiter? (to see cloud belts and stuff, not moons)

Ahh nice, I’m really hoping I’m going to be able to shoot ZFT, the weather hasn’t been very reliable lately though :/
Q. at what iso are you shooting mars and Jupiter? no moon filter for Jupiter?
Hi so I don’t use any filters yet and for mars the ISO was 200 and for Jupiter roughly 200 again I believe :)
Nice video, I just bought my very first telescope :)
The bass heavy music can take a run & jump.
Yeah had a problem with editing the sound for that, I hated it once I saw it sounded like it
Don't forget your crop factor of camera

Good luck with viewing the moon :)
I like this type of telescope
