Petticoat Junction, Green Acres were all great sitcoms. Far better than any of the shows of today.

Bea Benaderet was such a talented actress. In addition to her television career, and voice over cartoon career, she was fantastic in old time radio -- playing such a wide range of characters. Great lady.

I love the fact that as they are gathered in the waiting room waiting Betty Jo's baby.... and at the same time that those waiting were all who co-starred with Bea Benaderet who at this time was very sick & in the hospital herself. I like how the writers tied the two together, gathering for the scene for Betty Jo's baby & gathered I sure to receive word on Bea.

Bea died shortly after this episode was made, but before it aired the first time. Bea was shown in flashbacks and was in via voice.

I was excited to see "The Douglas's" on this when it aired. That Nurse looks really familiar. I was blissfully unaware of the sad circumstances of Benederet's "appearance".

I just seen a video tonight where Bea died 2 weeks before this episode aired! I never knew that; now it makes this episode even sadder to watch. We see the back of "Kate's" head on here, but in reality, she had already passed away.

Bea benaderet was too sick to appear so they used a body double then dubbed in her voice. This was her last episode..she died from lung cancer a short time later...so sad..the show was never the same imo.

In answer to Marc Joe,at the beginning of season 6 they said-or at least impled-that Charlie was dead.(Smiley Burnette had died in early 1967.)At the beginning of season 6,Wendall was shown as the engineer and Bobbie Jo casually said,"I understand Floyd has been promoted to an office job."(However,Floyd was back in a few of the latter episodes of season 7.)

They explained that the one played by Smiley Burnette had died. Rufe Davis retired at the end of the 1967-1968 season, though he did return for 2 episodes at the end of the series in 1970, at which point they officially retired his character. So Byron Foulger was cast for the 1968-1969 season. Unfortunately, Foulger was too ill to return for thye show's last season and died on 4-7-70.

There's a short explanation concerning Floyd during the season 6 premiere, "Is This My Daughter?". Bobbie Jo is talking with the new engineer Wendell next to the Cannonball and says something along the lines of, "and Floyd, he took a desk job with the railroad, didn't he?" That's about all the explaining we get, and I have to say it's tough to visualize Floyd in a desk job.

okay, okay, my friend...but I felt that maybe the place I read it could possibly be correct, because if you listen carefully it sounds a bit like "Wilma Flinstone". Bea was so sick, maybe she couldn't talk either. A little heartless if the producers invaded her hospital room to have her as a voice-over.
