      Same here! The old/original TV shows were much better written & more realistic. ... no sarcasm, people treated each other with respect and the children in the old TV shows never talked back to their parents or authority figures. As I was growing up in the 60,'s & 70's, if I spoke to my parents,, teacher's,, neighborhood parent,, etc like the TV kids talk today,, I wouldn't be able to sit down for a week!

    • @ZippyThePinhead
      @ZippyThePinhead 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I haven't REALLY sat down and intentionally watched sitcoms for years, most REALLY suck. But I have watched Big Bang occasionally, and it's pretty good, and watched 70's Show occasionally, because I thought/think Mila Kunis is pretty fine, but it was pretty good because it referenced my period of growing up, and I could relate.

      Petticoat Junction is a sitcom that originally aired on CBS from September 1963 to April 1970. The series takes place at the Shady Rest Hotel, which is run by Kate Bradley, her three daughters Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo, and Betty Jo, and her uncle Joe Carson. I know so much about it and I miss it too. How are you doing Georgette, hope you are safe from the crazy Covid?

    I loved this show and all the actresses and actors of it that made the show so memorable. We need a return back to these type of the shows, and the simpler non violent way of life that existed when these shows were made. We need the good old fashion ways of life back. When history tends to repeat itself hopes the things that made up this era makes a return back again.

      I love Bea as Blanche on the Burns and Allen show. Her laugh cracks me up. I just saw her as Pearl on the Hillbillies this morning. They wanted her to play Granny, but she was too buxom to play the part. I thought it was she was too tall as well. She was 5"3" tall. Seeing her next to Irene, both points became crystal clear. The show was never the same after her passing. June Lockhart is an excellent actress, but she wasn't a good fit in Hooterville.

      Sadly, you can never go back. If only we could. To change the outcome of unpleasant situations, to react more positively, to take back something you said, before you said it. Marriages come and go, but the love never truly dies. I believe mine is ending. I'm pretty broken up about it. But some things that get broken are truly unfixable......

    One of my favorite as a kid. I was heart broken when "Kate" died. And the neighborhood kids were sad about it as well. I was 10 when she died. But as I got older and reruns started flooding local time slots in the early '70's; I got used to "Dr. Janet Craig". They couldn't have picked a better, warmer character to replace Ms. Benederate. After all, she was the loving mother of "Timmy & Lassie" , and the family "lost in space"! My favorite Bradley girl was 'Lori Saunders', hands down!
