I was convinced it was Sherlock all over again, so I genuinely thought that they were just going to be friends and that any queerness would be purely subtext. And then they kissed and I nearly fell off the couch in shock.

Oh, and yes - Rhys Darby is a Monty Python fan. He has a long career as a standup comedian, which is how he first met Taika Waititi. They've been friends for over twenty years (more or less) and Rhys has been in a few of Taika's directorial projects as well. They go way back, and I think you can tell that they have a lived in chemistry right off the bat.
Ed hears "fashion!" and is SOLD!😁 He wants so badly to belong and please Stede, it's painful😭 But then, when Stede takes charge and tells him, THE Blackbeard, "stand down" and he DOES, and single-handedly fucks up that ship because they insulted him - what a gesture! No wonder he fell, and hard! Also LOVE the touch of Olu and Frenchie inventing the pyramide system to fuck with rich white arseholes and by God did the costum and hair departement a number here! A+! Nevermind the full moon scene because....only screams

The Jeff edit was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 I ADORE ep 5, it's still my favourite, even after s2 💖 I can just point to the full moon scene as *the* moment I went from just "This show is a fun watch" to it being my favourite piece of media and I don't think anything will top that scene, even if there's so many to choose from 😊 Fun fact: when Ed is in the bathtub you can see he's taken Stede's golden robe to use as a blanket 😭 Roach hitting Izzy with the sandwich is still one of the funniest moments in the show, I lose it every time 🤣 I'm pretty sure it was improvised by Samba Schutte Lucius and Black Pete kind of sneak up on you, but damn it, they're adorable 😊 Can't wait to see what you think of the rest of the season 😁

I ADORE this show!! Just some random reactions of mine - I ADORE your added rockstar "JEFF!" (so on point and FUNNY) . I loved that Frenchie and Olu came up with the original PYRAMID SCHEME. Watching you watch the series for the first time is THE BEST!
A subtle touch that no one mentions. As Blackbeard and Steed watch the "performance" together, the aria is "Voi che sapete" from Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro". The translation of the beginning is "you who know what love is..." It is sung in the opera by a woman portraying a teenage boy who later in the opera disguises himself as a woman. Very fluid. A very telling that of all the possible arias, the writers chose this one questioning what love is.
I really enjoy how you watch the show, you just seem like you're here ready to relax and enjoy yourself. :) Your edits are hysterical too, thry really take things to the next level. Can't wait for episodes 7 and 8!
Stede's read all the books on the Revenge already, I fully support his plan to leave some of the ones he's read on ships he's looting. Re: the snail fork scene, back when this initially aired, there were some Maori writers talking about having heard the insult the French captain uses used as an ethnic slur.

Hi Tyler, thank you for asking but I actually saw Avatar 2 when it came out in the cinema. I know I mentioned before that I may do a rewatch on the channel, but seeing as it's something I've seen already, I probably won't as it will allow more time to be spent on films I haven't seen yet.
