  • Three advanced fighter trainers from the Second World War will perform a breathtaking aerial combat simulation in the main Air Show of the Finnish Aeronautical Association in Lappeenranta on June 14th -16th 2013. Fitted with radial engines, the Swedish Sk 16 Harvard fighter trainers from the 1940's simulate air combat with pneumatically operated machine guns producing authentic sound effects for the audience.
The Sk 16 Harvard aircraft belong to the Swedish Air Force Historic flight, (SwAFHF) and they are painted in the 1940's and 1950's colours. The aircraft are flown by three ex- Swedish Air Force pilots; Svante Kilen, Olle Nohren and Alf Ingesson-Thoors. The SwAFHF restores and maintains in flying condition old Swedish Air Force fighters and trainers and flies them in various events and air shows. The Swedish Air Force had altogether 257 Sk 16 Harvards from the end of the 1940's till 1972.
